With rice crops ending in the harvest season, rice prices are rising again.

Today, March 25th, rice prices in the Mekong Delta region have adjusted upwards.

Accordingly, rice prices today rebounded with an increase of 50-300 VND/kg. In Lap Vo ( Dong Thap ) and An Cu (Tien Giang), both factories and traders selling rice at the market saw strong demand.

Specifically, the price of IR 504 raw rice increased by 100 VND/kg today to 10,700 - 10,750 VND/kg; finished IR 504 rice remained stable at 13,100 - 13,200 VND/kg, an increase of 2002 - 300 VND/kg.

Regarding by-products, the price of IR 504 rice increased by 50 VND/kg to 10,650 - 10,750 VND/kg. Meanwhile, dry rice bran remained stable at around 5,000 - 5,050 VND/kg.

Rice prices remained stable today.

At retail markets, rice prices remained stable. Accordingly, the price of regular rice fluctuated around 14,000 - 15,000 VND/kg; Jasmine rice 17,000 - 18,000 VND/kg; Nang Nhen rice 26,000 VND/kg; long-grain Thai fragrant rice 19,000 - 20,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice 21,000 VND/kg; and Taiwanese fragrant rice 20,000 VND/kg.

Regarding rice, prices remained unchanged today. According to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, IR 50404 rice maintained at 7,400 - 7,600 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice at 7,600 - 7,800 VND/kg; OM 380 rice fluctuating at 7,500 - 7,600 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 rice fluctuating around 7,700 - 7,900 VND/kg; OM 18 rice at 7,900 - 8,100 VND/kg; and Dai Thom 8 rice maintained around 7,900 - 8,000 VND/kg.

On the rice market, the average price of fresh paddy purchased at the field is 7,800 - 8,200 VND/kg. Observations in the Mekong Delta provinces today show stable trading activity. In Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, and Hau Giang, fragrant rice varieties maintain stable prices, with consistent trading and strong demand. Trading mainly involves ST 24 rice. In Can Tho , the winter-spring rice crop is largely finished, and farmers are beginning to sow the summer-autumn crop.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, by mid-March, the southern provinces had harvested 796,837 hectares, accounting for over 50% of the planted area. Localities had also planted 195,669 hectares of summer-autumn crops, representing 14% of the plan; concentrated in the provinces of Long An, Dong Thap, Tien Giang, Kien Giang, Can Tho, Hau Giang, Vinh Long, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, and Ba Ria Vung Tau.

On the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices remained stable today after an upward adjustment. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), standard 5% broken rice is currently at 596 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is at 568 USD/ton; and 100% broken rice is at 481 USD/ton.
