The Colombian striker's tackle from behind left the Moroccan defender in pain as he left the pitch in tears, amidst the outrage of the Parc des Princes crowd on November 5th. According to French media, Hakimi is likely to be sidelined until the end of 2025 and risks missing the Africa Cup of Nations in January 2026. PSG has not yet announced an official diagnosis, but concerns exist regarding the seriousness of the player's ankle injury.

Social media erupted after the foul. Many called it an "unacceptable" tackle, especially since Diaz had scored a brace and become Bayern's hero just minutes before. PSG were reportedly furious because Diaz's side did not send a direct apology to Hakimi.

The Colombian player only wrote a few lines on his personal Instagram, expressing his regret: “It was an emotional night. Football always shows that good and bad things can happen in 90 minutes. It’s sad that I couldn’t finish the game with my teammates. I wish Hakimi a speedy recovery.”

Luis Diaz had a night of contrasting performances. He scored two goals to give Bayern the lead, then received a direct red card for a dangerous tackle at the end of the first half. VAR confirmed the serious foul, and Bayern had to play with ten men for the entire second half.
