Luis Diaz just had a message for Hakimi.. |
The Colombian striker's tackle from behind left the Moroccan defender in tears, amid outrage from the Parc des Princes crowd on November 5. According to French media, Hakimi is likely to be out of action until the end of 2025 and is at risk of missing the Africa Cup of Nations in January 2026. PSG have not yet released an official diagnosis, but are concerned that the star's ankle injury is quite serious.
Social media exploded after the foul. Many called it an “unacceptable” tackle, especially since Diaz had scored twice and become Bayern’s hero just minutes before. PSG were said to be furious because Diaz’s side did not apologize directly to Hakimi.
The Colombian player only wrote a few lines on his personal Instagram, expressing his regret: "It was an emotional night. Football always shows that good and bad things can happen in 90 minutes. It's sad that I couldn't finish the match with my teammates. I wish Hakimi a speedy recovery."
Luis Diaz had a mixed night. He scored twice to give Bayern the lead, then received a straight red card for a dangerous tackle late in the first half. VAR confirmed the foul, and Bayern had to play with one less man for the rest of the second half.
PSG only pulled one goal back thanks to Joao Neves in the last minute, while Vincent Kompany and his team had to fight hard to preserve the victory. For Luis Diaz, the difference between hero and villain was just a ball away.
