New entrant launches 750Hz monitor in Vietnam. |
Recently, Antgamer, a sub-brand of HKC, launched a line of 750Hz monitors in Vietnam. This refresh rate far exceeds the standard for typical use. However, the race continues as some manufacturers develop products reaching 1000Hz. These devices cater to a small group of gamers with specific needs. Besides the high price, customers must also meet a range of other requirements.
The Antgamer 257PF boasts a 750Hz refresh rate and FullHD resolution. This is one of the highest refresh rates currently available in Vietnam. For comparison, most mainstream phones only have a 60Hz refresh rate.
The entire range of the new iPhone 17 models has been upgraded to 120Hz this year. Meanwhile, most movies are only produced at 24fps to match the motion blur of the human eye.

This race to increase screen refresh rates only serves a small customer base: professional gamers competing in first-person shooter games like CS2 or Valorant . In these games, decisions can be made in fractions of a second. Therefore, a faster screen provides an advantage on the battlefield.
In reality, high speed is beneficial for gamers in any game. However, in most games, the impact on the outcome is negligible. League of Legends or Dota 2 require more strategy and planning than short-term gains. Fighting games like Tekken and Street Fighter depend on player skill and reflexes. The same applies to sports simulation and racing games.
The product does not yet have an official price in Vietnam. In China, it costs 8,000 RMB (29 million VND). This is a very high price considering the 24-inch size, Full HD resolution, and TN panel which has limited viewing angles. At this price point, customers who prioritize display quality could purchase OLED monitors with resolutions up to 5K for entertainment and work purposes.
Besides Antgamer, AOC also introduced a monitor with a refresh rate of up to 1000 Hz earlier this year at Full HD resolution. The company offers an option to reduce it to 750 Hz at 2K.
Besides the high price, to afford these monitors, customers also have to invest in a very high-performance computer system. To run at 750 Hz in CS2 or Valorant , the PC must at least use an RTX 5070. The price of this equipment can reach around 100 million VND.
These factors have made high-speed monitors less common, serving a small customer base. In return, it has motivated manufacturers to compete in upgrading their technology. Currently, 144-300 Hz monitors are gradually becoming a more popular and affordable option compared to a few years ago.
