
Today (June 26th), rain will continue throughout the day in many areas of Northern Vietnam, especially in mountainous and hilly regions. Some areas may experience heavy rainfall exceeding 60mm, causing localized flooding in urban areas, along with the risk of thunderstorms and lightning. The mountainous and hilly regions will continue to receive rainfall of 20-40mm, with some areas experiencing very heavy rain exceeding 120mm, raising concerns about landslides and localized flooding.
Due to the rain, the heatwave in Northern Vietnam will end today. Temperatures will drop sharply by about 5-7 degrees Celsius, making the weather much milder. The highest temperatures in most wards are forecast to be between 29-34 degrees Celsius.
Thunderstorms will only spread to Thanh Hoa this evening, so the highest temperature of the day will drop to 35 degrees Celsius. Other areas in Central Vietnam will continue to experience intense heat. The highest temperature from Thanh Vinh ward to Tuy Hoa ward will be 37-39 degrees Celsius, with hot and dry weather.
The rest of central Vietnam will experience much milder weather as it is not affected by the hot low-pressure system from the west. Today's highest temperatures will be between 25 and 32 degrees Celsius.
In the Southern region, it will be sunny from morning until early afternoon. Some areas such as Bien Hoa, Thu Dau Mot, and Ben Thanh wards will be quite hot with temperatures reaching 35 degrees Celsius. Other wards will generally experience temperatures between 32-34 degrees Celsius.
Warning: This evening and tonight, the Central Highlands and Southern regions will experience scattered showers and thunderstorms with rainfall amounts of 10-30mm, and some areas receiving over 60mm. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind.
At sea, in the waters off Lam Dong - Ca Mau, from Ca Mau to An Giang , and offshore of the Truong Sa Special Zone, there is a warning of thunderstorms with the potential for tornadoes and strong gusts of wind at level 7-8. In the Hoang Sa Special Zone, there will be scattered rain and stable winds at level 4-5.
