According to Dr. Nguyen Van Minh, Head of the Oncology Unit at Hoan My Thu Duc Hospital, the oncology unit is a highly specialized department within the hospital, focusing on the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of cancer using a multidisciplinary model (internal medicine, surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, nutrition, etc.) and individualized treatment protocols.
The unit has a team of experienced doctors and modern equipment, aiming to improve the quality of care and reduce the burden on patients.
Ensure that each case undergoes regular expert consultation, develops optimal treatment protocols, is updated according to international guidelines, and is flexibly adjusted based on the actual response.

To effectively support cancer screening, diagnosis, and treatment, the hospital has invested in a comprehensive system of modern equipment to shorten diagnosis time, increase accuracy, and support timely treatment decisions, especially in early-stage cancer cases.
On this occasion, the hospital also launched a community support program with 1,000 free cancer screenings and treatment cost assistance for eligible cases, aiming to encourage people to proactively get early screenings and access timely medical care .
Previously, Hoan My Hospital organized a workshop on the theme "Comprehensive Strategy in Oncology: Connecting Diagnosis - Treatment - Monitoring," aiming to share experiences, update new treatment trends, and strengthen interdisciplinary coordination in cancer patient care.
According to Dr. Pham Tuan Phu, Director of Hoan My Thu Duc Hospital, the International Agency for Cancer Registry (IARC) predicts that by 2045, the number of new cancer cases in Vietnam will increase by 45%.
This makes cancer an increasingly significant health challenge in Vietnam; notably, many cases are detected at a late stage, making treatment complicated, expensive, and greatly impacting the quality of life for patients.
Meanwhile, medical evidence shows that early screening and diagnosis significantly improve treatment effectiveness and prognosis.
