The reason Senior Lieutenant Dang Minh Thuan chose the military path stems from his belief in and admiration for the image of the Ho Chi Minh's soldiers. For him, wearing the green uniform is not only an honor but also an opportunity to live and work in a special environment—a place that forges individuals with "iron will and courage," high discipline, deep love and camaraderie, and a willingness to sacrifice for the common good. Although the military environment is strict, it has molded him into a mature, capable soldier, not only steadfast in his professional work but also exemplary in his daily life.

Mr. Thuan's current job is as a nurse, guiding patients through the examination and treatment procedures, adhering to and implementing the hospital's rules and regulations, the management mechanisms of patient rooms and procedure rooms, and using and maintaining medical equipment as assigned. To meet the demands of his job, Mr. Thuan is always dedicated, meticulous, and caring in assisting patients, and actively learns to improve his professional skills. Along with that, the serious yet friendly work environment has helped him overcome difficulties and successfully complete his tasks.
Thuận's wife is Senior Lieutenant Nguyễn Dương Diễm Trang, currently working at the Pharmacy Department, Military Hospital 121, Logistics and Technical Department, Military Region 9. They first met in 2017 while working together in the same unit. Thuận's initial impression of her was her gentle, thoughtful, and dedicated personality. After getting to know each other for a while, in September 2018, Trang participated in a training course at Military Region 7. Three months of long-distance relationship were challenging, but it was also a time that helped Thuận deepen his feelings for her. Immediately after Trang completed her course and returned, he proposed and happily received her acceptance. In 2019, Thuận and Trang held their wedding in a warm and joyful atmosphere. Mr. Thuan is from Bac Lieu (formerly), and Ms. Trang is from Dong Thap. They both work in Can Tho , so their wedding was held in three different locations as a way to share their happiness with their hometowns and comrades.
At the end of 2019, their joy was multiplied when their family welcomed a new member. In 2021, when the Covid-19 pandemic broke out, Mr. Thuan was assigned to Field Hospital 6B, while Ms. Trang was pregnant with their second child. That was an extremely difficult time as Mr. Thuan couldn't be by his wife's side during childbirth, relying on support from both sets of parents. Whenever he recalls that period, he feels deeply grateful for his wife's love and silent sacrifice, which helped him overcome the great challenges of his military career.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Thuan's hometowns are more than 100km away from their workplaces, so in the early days after their marriage, they had to rent a room, which was both expensive and inconvenient for daily life and commuting. Thanks to the care and support of their superiors, they were arranged to rent a government-provided apartment in the Logistics-Technical Staff Housing Area, Binh Thuy Ward, Can Tho City. Although the room is not very large, with careful planning and arrangement by both of them, the space is still comfortable enough for the four members of their family. In particular, the security here is excellent, giving Mr. and Mrs. Thuan complete peace of mind when their children play and engage in outdoor activities. Surrounded by colleagues and fellow soldiers, they always receive timely and dedicated support whenever needed. Furthermore, the kindergarten and primary school are located right next to the staff housing area, making it convenient for their children's education and daily commutes.
Weekends are precious time for the whole family to gather together. Ms. Trang often cooks delicious dishes from the Mekong Delta that the whole family loves. Meanwhile, Mr. Thuan takes advantage of the time to clean the house while playing with the children, creating intimate and warm moments of bonding. During summer holidays, festivals, and Tet (Lunar New Year), they often take their children back to their hometown, so that the children can connect with and love the land where their parents were born and raised. These visits to their hometown not only help the children understand their roots but also nurture family bonds and the traditions of their homeland.
The future holds many challenges, but Thuan and Trang are always aware that, besides maintaining their family happiness, each of them, as soldiers, has a great responsibility to the country. With love and determination, they will always be together, building their home and performing their duties well, contributing to the protection of the Fatherland. These simple yet sincere values are the foundation that helps their family overcome all difficulties, contributing a small part to building a prosperous and compassionate homeland in the Mekong Delta.
