Lang Son College is a public vocational training institution under the Provincial People's Committee. The school was established on the basis of merging Lang Son Vocational College, Lang Son Medical College into Lang Son Pedagogical College. Currently, the school has 25 training majors and occupations with nearly 3,000 students; the system of classrooms, practice workshops, dormitories, and libraries is relatively synchronous. The school identifies the key task of improving the quality of education and training management, linked to the human resource needs of the province and the region. To achieve that goal, in the 2025-2026 school year, the school will review, update, and adjust all majors and occupations in an open direction, increasing applicability, suitable for the requirements of digital transformation and the socio- economic development goals of the province.
The school currently implements 34 training programs at elementary, intermediate, college and preschool education levels; combining the year-based learning method with module and credit accumulation, creating conditions for learners to choose a suitable path. Along with that is the construction and completion of training regulations and processes, application of management software, moving towards operating a learning management system (LMS), electronic learner records, linking training with scientific research and professional practice activities.
At the same time, the school enhances consulting, training in soft skills, digital skills, and supports startups through civic activities weeks, extracurricular activities, and specialized training classes, creating a foundation for learners to form career thinking and startup thinking right from school.
In that series of activities, the "Career Counseling - Job Introduction" Festival held in mid-November 2025 was a highlight when it attracted more than 20 businesses, recruitment units, and training facilities to participate, providing a visual picture of human resource needs and career requirements.
For students, the festival is not only an opportunity to visit booths but also an opportunity to look back at themselves. Truong Thanh Hien, class K6 Agricultural and Forestry Economics, said: After receiving advice and discussing with employers, I have a better understanding of recruitment criteria as well as career trends in my field of study. The specific requirements for skills, style and adaptability made me realize that I need to make more efforts in the remaining time at school to perfect my abilities.
Currently, Lang Son College maintains cooperation with more than 20 enterprises in the fields of education, health, industry, and services. Enterprises participate with the school from the stage of giving opinions on training programs, receiving interns, coordinating training classes according to orders, to supporting equipment, participating in vocational skills assessment. Some technical majors implement the "dual training" model, students both study at school and practice at enterprises, thereby quickly adapting to the actual production environment, corporate style and culture.
Ms. Ha Thi Thanh Huyen, Deputy Head of the Student Affairs Department, said: Expanding cooperation with businesses has created conditions for the school to innovate more strongly in supporting learners. Feedback from businesses, from production practices and from student internships is an important basis for adjusting consulting methods, supplementing necessary skills and organizing appropriate accompanying activities. The goal is to help students adapt quickly to career requirements and develop their abilities upon graduation.
Along with business cooperation, the school also promotes international cooperation, maintains sending Chinese language students to study and do internships abroad; organizes training programs on ethnic languages, Chinese, basic information technology skills... to expand learning and employment opportunities for learners, meeting integration requirements.
From program innovation to enhanced career counseling and orientation and expanded cooperation, it can be seen that the school is steadfast in its training orientation linked to practice, placing learners at the center and considering businesses as strategic partners. These activities not only expand opportunities for students but also contribute to creating human resources with skills, discipline and professional style to meet the development requirements of the province and the region in the new period.
