A day in Perth

Finally, I arrived in Perth, the capital of Western Australia – one of the "most isolated cities in the world." Located more than 1,300 miles from other major cities, it stands out for its stunning natural beauty and modern lifestyle.

Lush greenery blends seamlessly with the modern pace of life in Perth.

After a flight of over six hours, the Vietnam Airlines Boeing 787 gently landed at Perth Airport in Perth, Australia. Famous for its stunning coastline, warm Mediterranean-like climate, and year-round clear skies, Perth is an ideal destination for those who appreciate the unique blend of modernity and wild nature.

Morning

Perth welcomed me with a beautiful sunny day, gentle breezes, and a slight morning chill. This kind of weather was perfect for a stroll in Caversham Wildlife Park, located in the Swan Valley, about a 30-minute drive from the Perth city center.

Caversham Wildlife is one of the most famous animal parks in Western Australia, where you can meet and interact with iconic Australian animals. Here, I encountered kangaroos leaping freely in the expansive grounds, greeting visitors with playful antics. Koalas easily captured my heart with their sleepy, dreamy eyes, as if intoxicated by eucalyptus leaves. And, of course, we can't forget the Quokka – nicknamed the "happiest animal in the world " because of its perpetually smiling face.

A visit to Caversham Wildlife was more than just a stroll; it was an opportunity to immerse myself in nature and discover the country's unique wildlife. Leaving the park, I headed to Swan Valley, a region renowned for its lush vineyards and prestigious wineries in Western Australia for nearly 200 years. Among them, I chose to stop at Sandalford Winery, with its history spanning over 180 years. Rows of vines, glistening in the sunlight, blended with the aroma of the earth, creating wines aged with love and dedication. A lunch there, featuring tender, succulent beef steak paired with a glass of the renowned Sandalford wine, was an unforgettable experience.

Noon

The journey continues to King's Park, one of the world's largest inner-city parks. From here, you can enjoy panoramic views of the emerald green Swan River, stroll along the Lotterywest Federation Walkway, or discover over 3,000 rare native plant species. Don't miss the War Memorial, a solemn site to commemorate fallen soldiers, and an ideal photo spot with the Swan River as a backdrop.

Next, I visited Fremantle, a historic port city with a charming old-world appeal. Wandering through streets like High Street and South Terrace, I felt transported back in time as I admired the 19th-century architecture. Many of the buildings here have been repurposed as pubs, restaurants, bookstores, hotels, and other service spaces. Around the area is the bustling Fremantle Market, offering a wide variety of goods from souvenirs and home decor to clothing and food from around the world. Behind the market lies Henderson Road, notable for its old limestone houses, where jailers once lived when they governed Fremantle Prison. Today, these houses are used as hotels for tourists, while the prison itself is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Perth is marked by architectural structures that bear the beauty of time.

Afternoon

As the day's sunlight faded, on my way back to Perth city center, I stopped at the Blue Boat House, a famous landmark on the Swan River. Described by CNN as the most photographed spot in Perth, this small house, over 90 years old, is painted blue and white, creating a striking contrast against the vast expanse of the Swan River. With its peaceful setting, the blue house on the water is a favorite photo spot for both tourists and locals.

Then I visited London Court, a small street with classic English architecture, located right in the heart of Perth. Built in 1937, it was once a trading center for gold miners. Stepping through the gate with the large antique clock at the end of the street, I felt like I had entered another world in the middle of Perth. Strolling among the shops, enjoying coffee and admiring the historic atmosphere on the street where Hay Street and St Georges Street meet was an unforgettable experience.

As the sun began to set and the sky turned a golden hue, I headed to Elizabeth Harbour to enjoy the cool breeze and the glorious sunset over the Swan River, a perfect way to end the afternoon.

Evening

As night fell, I visited Forest Place, a vibrant central square with dazzling lights and a bustling atmosphere, ideal for a stroll and enjoying street food .

A day in Perth offered me a harmonious blend of nature, culture, and modern life. From exploring wildlife at Caversham Wildlife Park in the morning, to watching the sunset at Elizabeth Quay in the afternoon, and shopping in the city center in the evening, the journey left me with unforgettable memories.
