Located right at the entrance to Phu Quoc pier, less than 100 meters away, the Hong Chau Yen Kien Giang Specialty Supermarket, situated in the 16-hectare Hoa Bien area, L2-08 Ly Nhan Tong Street, Vinh Thanh Van Ward (Rach Gia City), owned by Mr. Tran Dong Man, has quickly become an ideal stop for tourists from near and far. After nearly a year of operation in coordination with the Kien Giang Provincial Cooperative Alliance, it attracts a large number of visitors from various provinces and cities who come to shop after visiting the islands or enjoying seafood in Rach Gia City. A special feature is that all products here have clearly displayed prices, giving tourists peace of mind when making their choices. Foreign visitors often choose sim wine and wild grape wine, while domestic tourists prefer bird's nest, Phu Quoc fish sauce, pepper, and other specialties with the distinctive flavors of Kien Giang.

Along with some friends, Ms. Nguyen My Duyen, a tourist from Hanoi , chose to buy bird's nest at Hong Chau Yen specialty supermarket in Kien Giang. She said: "I just returned from Phu Quoc, and as soon as I boarded the ferry, my friends suggested buying bird's nest and fish sauce as gifts. I was immediately impressed. A plus point here is that all products have barcodes for traceability, prices are clearly listed, and customers are offered free samples of bird's nest."

For tourists looking for convenient shopping and local specialties, Co.opmart Rach Gia in the 16-hectare Hoa Bien area, Vinh Thanh Van ward, is a popular choice. Besides consumer goods, it also features a dedicated section showcasing OCOP (One Commune One Product) products from Kien Giang province, including reputable brands such as Kim Thien Loc organic rice, Ngo Hoang Du black pepper, Khai Hoan fish sauce, and Minh Tri pork sausage.

A new but quite popular spot for tourists is the OCOP product sales point at Gió Biển Restaurant, located at 271 Nguyen An Ninh Street, Vinh Bao Ward. Opened in September 2024, the sales point was jointly implemented by the Kien Giang Provincial Farmers' Association, aiming to bring OCOP-certified products closer to consumers.

After enjoying delicious seafood dishes, diners can purchase local specialties at the display area right inside the restaurant. Mr. Tran Quoc Khanh, a tourist from Dong Thap, said: "I like this combination. I get to enjoy delicious food and be introduced to authentic local products, saving me the trouble of searching."

"Every time I visit Kien Giang, I have to stop by the Kien Giang OCOP store to buy fish sauce and dried fish as souvenirs. The taste here is very distinctive and unmistakable. Importantly, it has OCOP certification, so I feel very confident about the quality," shared Ms. Nguyen Hong Ngoc, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, during her return visit to Rach Gia City.

With items such as traditional Phu Quoc fish sauce, dried yellowfin fish, dried snakehead fish, sim wine, soursop tea, organic rice, U Minh forest honey, shrimp crackers, etc., the Kien Giang OCOP store has become a popular destination for tourists and locals alike, who visit and shop for personal use or as gifts.

The store's strengths include its spacious environment, enthusiastic staff, and especially its frequent product sampling programs. "Many tourists appreciate it because they can buy genuine, authentic OCOP products without fear of buying counterfeit goods," said Tran Thanh Thao, owner of the OCOP store in Kien Giang.
