Widespread thunderstorms

According to the forecast of Lao Cai Province's Hydrometeorological Station, tonight and tomorrow (May 29), localities in the province will have rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, with some places having heavy rain.

Tonight and tomorrow, due to the influence of a compressed low pressure trough with an axis through the North, combined with wind convergence up to 3,000 m, the weather in localities in the province will be: Cloudy, with rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy rain, Southeast wind level 2, cold at night and morning, cold in highlands.

Widespread thunderstorms are likely to be accompanied by extreme phenomena such as hail, tornadoes, strong winds and lightning. Therefore, local people, especially those in mountainous areas, need to be on guard against such natural disasters causing damage.

Specific weather forecast for localities in the province is as follows:

Low mountainous areas ( including districts: Bao Yen, Bao Thang, Van Ban and some lowland communes of Bat Xat and Muong Khuong districts) : Cloudy, with rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy rain, Southeast wind level 2, temperature from 22 to 28 ⁰ C, average humidity above 85%.

High mountainous areas ( including districts: Bat Xat, Muong Khuong, Si Ma Cai ) : Cloudy, with rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy rain, Southeast wind level 2, cold at night and early morning, temperature from 19 to 23 ⁰ C, average humidity above 90%.

Lao Cai City : Cloudy, sometimes rainy, showers and thunderstorms, Southeast wind level 2, temperature from 22 to 28 ⁰ C, average humidity above 85%.

Sa Pa tourist area : Cloudy, sometimes rainy, moderate rain and thunderstorms, Southeast wind level 2, cold weather, temperature from 15 to 19 ⁰ C, average humidity above 90%.

Bac Ha tourist area : Cloudy, sometimes rainy, moderate rain and thunderstorms, Southeast wind level 2, cold at night and early morning, temperature from 19 to 23 ⁰ C, average humidity above 90%.
