Under the intense March sun, in the coconut grove of Hamlet 2, Phuoc Long Commune, Mr. Do Thanh An diligently tends to over 150 beehives, which are currently in the honey harvesting season. Besides this area, he also keeps his beehives in his garden (An Hoi Ward) and around the gym next to the provincial road opposite Nguyen Ngoc Thang High School.

After working in Japan as a laborer and then returning to Vietnam to work for a company in Ho Chi Minh City for about two years, An decided to return to his hometown to become his own boss. He started raising pigs, opened a gym, and built a beekeeping operation – a job he'd been involved in since the 8th grade. The bees mainly collect nectar from coconut groves, with the best quality honey harvested during the dry season, averaging once every two weeks, at a price of 400,000 VND per liter.

Mr. An said that beekeeping doesn't require a lot of capital for large-scale investment right from the start, but rather patience and practical experience. It's about diligently mastering the techniques, especially the habits and organization of bees, in order to gradually divide the colonies and increase the number of bees. He is also willing to share his experience, provide guidance, and supply bee colonies to those who need them.

According to Mr. Vo Nguyen Duc Huy, Secretary of the Phuoc Long Commune Youth Union, the employment trends of young people after working abroad, especially in the Japanese market, are showing a clear differentiation. The majority choose to work for Japanese businesses in Vietnam to develop their skills and earn a stable, higher-than-average income. Some young people choose to start their own businesses in their hometowns, but face many obstacles, especially due to the impact of climate change and prolonged droughts significantly affecting agricultural production.

To support young people, the Phuoc Long Commune Youth Union is committed to continuing career guidance and providing maximum support in terms of legal procedures and completing licenses for young businesses wishing to expand their production scale. This is an important effort to create conditions for young people to develop economically right in their locality.
