Cinnamon peeling season

These days, people in cinnamon-growing regions of the province are busy with the year-end cinnamon bark harvest. Cinnamon trees not only increase income for many families but also provide raw materials for wood processing and manufacturing facilities and essential oil distillation plants in the area.

Throughout the communes of Mo Vang, Phong Du Thuong, Bao Ha, and others, people are busy peeling, trimming, and processing cinnamon. Although the price of cinnamon at this time is not higher than in previous seasons, it is the main source of income for many families, helping to cover their children's education and daily living expenses.

The best time to peel cinnamon bark is in the autumn (from August to October in the lunar calendar), when the cinnamon tree is in its vigorous growth phase, the bark is soft, pliable, easy to peel, and has a high essential oil content.
