In late October, grapefruit orchards throughout Doan Hung district in general and Van Don commune in particular entered the harvest season. The golden color of ripe grapefruits, combined with sunlight filtering through the green foliage, created a vibrant picture. The entire commune has 750 households growing grapefruit on an area of 161.13 hectares, mainly cultivating varieties such as Cat Que grapefruit, Dien Tom Vang grapefruit, Dien Tom Xanh grapefruit, Da Xanh grapefruit, and Duong La Crunchy grapefruit.
From Van Don, pomelos are transported and consumed throughout provinces and cities such as Da Nang, Hanoi , Ho Chi Minh City, Vinh Phuc, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hai Duong... Many households in the commune are gradually switching to VietGAP safe production processes, applying digital transformation in production, promotion and consumption of products, contributing to increasing the value of pomelo trees.

The family of Mr. Dinh Quynh, residing in Zone 2, Van Don commune, has over 400 pomelo trees of various varieties, including green-skinned pomelo, wrinkled-leaf pomelo, green-shrimp pomelo, and pink-shrimp pomelo, which are entering the harvest season. Each year, after deducting expenses, he earns a profit of over 500 million VND.
The more than 800 pomelo trees of the Trang-Dau family, including the green-skinned pomelo, wrinkled-leaf pomelo, and Dien Tom Vang varieties, provide a stable source of income for the family.
