The US is piloting a fast-track visa interview service.

According to a Vietnam News Agency (VNA) correspondent in Washington, an announcement expected to be published in the Federal Register this week indicates that the US State Department will launch a pilot program allowing applicants to pay an additional $750 on top of the regular visa application fee of $185. Those participating in the program will be able to schedule an interview within 10 days of paying this additional fee.

The program will run from July 1 to December 31, 2026, and may be extended depending on actual needs. The U.S. State Department expects to announce the list of participating embassies and consulates before July 1. The new service could help shorten visa interview waiting times amidst changes being implemented by the Trump administration regarding visa processing and control.
