Cooperative societies achieve breakthroughs through value chain linkages.
Cooperative societies achieve breakthroughs through value chain linkages. In recent years, many cooperatives in Can Tho City have continuously innovated their operating methods, gradually shifting from small-scale production to value chain linkages; while also exploring the potential of agricultural tourism and experiential tourism. This approach not only contributes to increasing the value of agricultural products and expanding consumer markets but also creates momentum to promote the sustainable development of the collective economy and cooperatives.

Since its establishment, Truong Foods has created jobs for more than 50 local workers. 100% of the production workers have received vocational training and are equipped with knowledge of food safety and hygiene. As a result, Truong Foods produces products of a quality that is distinct from similar products on the market.

On average, Truong Foods receives a considerable amount of raw materials from suppliers each year, including over 180 tons of pork, over 20 tons of roasted rice flour and corn, 9 tons of guava leaves, and more than 100,000 plastic bottles and bamboo tubes... contributing to increased income for many raw material production facilities in the locality and outside the province.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hoa, Director of the company, stated: “Along with expanding production scale, the company is particularly focused on researching market expansion, building a system of distributors and agents in key markets within the province and other provinces and cities such as Hoa Binh, Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Thai Binh, Vinh Phuc, Thai Nguyen... Product promotion and advertising are emphasized; in addition to its own website, Truong Foods also utilizes social media platforms and mass media, and regularly participates in exhibitions and trade fairs... By quickly adopting science and technology and applying digital transformation, the company has established the Truong Foods brand in the market, bringing the flavor of our traditional fermented pork to a wider audience.”

Along with businesses, cooperatives in the province have now undergone innovation in human resources and business methods towards a market economy, becoming potential and effective economic organizations. Many cooperatives have better organized production and service business activities, becoming more dynamic in the market mechanism. In the agricultural sector alone, over 60 cooperatives are involved in production and product consumption linkages. Simultaneously, they have developed production on a large scale and concentrated in areas, acting as a bridge in adopting and guiding the application of scientific and technological advancements in production; building brands and ensuring traceability. Cooperatives have focused on production linkages and aimed to develop key products that are local strengths such as tea, pomelo, bananas, livestock, poultry, and safe vegetables.

In a competitive market economy, to establish its brand, Hung Lo Rice Noodle Cooperative in Hung Lo commune, Viet Tri city, has registered its product trademark. Hung Lo rice noodles sold on the market are packaged with logos, labels, and traceability codes. The cooperative produces year-round, not seasonally as before, forcing its members to innovate their production thinking, invest in machinery and equipment to ensure consistent product quality, design, and quantity. The cooperative's products have expanded to markets outside the province, including supermarkets and export markets. The cooperative aims for professional production, improved product quality, and further expansion of its distribution channels through distributors.

Currently, the province's agricultural products are abundant and their quality is constantly improving and stabilizing, thanks to the active participation of businesses and cooperatives in the production and processing of agricultural products. This has created livelihoods for hundreds of families through their participation in the production, processing, and sales chains. In reality, from the strategy of diversifying agricultural products according to market demand, many businesses and cooperatives have played a good role in promoting the formation of value chain production models linked to key products, on a large scale, with widespread impact, contributing increasingly effectively to the province's socio-economic growth.
