From the awareness of each family
In recent years, using electricity efficiently and economically has gradually become a habit for many households in the province. From simple actions like utilizing natural light and ventilation, turning off electrical appliances when not in use, adjusting air conditioner temperatures appropriately, to choosing energy-saving electrical appliances... all have yielded practical results.
The family of Mr. Nguyen Van Hanh in residential area 3, Nam Ly, Dong Hoi ward, is one of the households that has successfully maintained electricity saving practices. Not only have they proactively changed their daily habits, but they have also researched and selected electrical appliances with high efficiency and power ratings suitable for their needs. As a result, in the first four months of this year, the family saved 83 kWh of electricity, equivalent to a nearly 3% reduction in electricity consumption compared to the same period last year.

According to Mr. Hanh, saving electricity does not mean restricting its use, but rather using it at the right time, according to need, and avoiding waste. This is also a viewpoint that many households in the province are embracing and implementing.
During the scorching hot days, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Bao's family in Chinh Truc residential area, Ba Don ward, always maintains the habit of saving electricity. Lighting devices are only turned on when absolutely necessary. In addition, he regularly reminds family members to turn off fans, lights, and other electrical appliances when leaving the room; and completely disconnects the power supply to unused devices to avoid unnecessary energy consumption.
If each household saves even a small amount of electricity, this will create a significant energy surplus across society, helping to reduce pressure on the power system during peak hot months.
Working together to reduce pressure on the power system.
Along with changes in electricity usage habits, many households in the province have boldly invested in clean energy solutions to proactively secure their electricity supply and reduce dependence on the national power grid.
Mr. Tran Minh Tuan's family in Dong Ha ward recently invested in a rooftop solar power system consisting of 8 solar panels and a power storage system. The electricity produced not only meets their daytime needs but also powers essential appliances at night or during power outages.
The development of rooftop solar power is considered one of the important solutions to effectively exploit the local solar radiation potential, while also contributing to reducing pressure on the power system during periods of high load demand.

Implementing the national program on energy saving and efficiency for the period 2026-2030, Quang Tri province aims to save 8-10% of total energy consumption; reduce electricity loss to below 4%; and strive to save at least 3% of total annual electricity consumption. Especially during peak hot months, the province implements many solutions to improve electricity efficiency as directed by the Government and the Ministry of Industry and Trade .
Saving electricity is an immediate solution to address the increased electricity demand during the summer , and also a long-term task to ensure national energy security. When each citizen raises their awareness of saving electricity, each family proactively changes their living habits, and each agency and business joins hands in implementing energy-saving solutions, the pressure on the power system will gradually be reduced. These small but practical actions will contribute to ensuring a stable power supply, serving socio-economic development, and improving the quality of life for the people.
Besides public awareness campaigns, the province requires agencies and units to strengthen monitoring of electricity usage; promote the application of digital technology in electricity consumption management; and include electricity saving as a criterion for evaluating task completion. Production and business establishments are encouraged to use high-efficiency equipment and arrange production plans appropriately to limit electricity use during peak hours.
For restaurants, hotels, commercial establishments, and buildings, reducing or minimizing outdoor advertising and decorative lighting by at least 50% in the evenings is also being implemented to help save energy during the hot season.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Tung, Head of the Energy Management Department of the Department of Industry and Trade, emphasized: Currently, the department is advising the Provincial People's Committee to implement a comprehensive set of solutions for energy saving and efficient electricity use in the province. This includes clearly assigning responsibilities to departments, agencies, and localities; strengthening communication to raise community awareness; and encouraging the development of rooftop solar power and the application of technology in electricity consumption management to achieve the set goals.
