Which bank pays the highest interest rate?

VietA Bank has joined the wave of deposit interest rate reductions starting today (May 23). This is the first time VietA Bank has lowered deposit interest rates since the beginning of May.

Online deposit interest rates for terms of 1-5 months remain at 5.5% per year. However, interest rates for terms from 6 months to under 18 months have been uniformly reduced by 0.2% by the bank. Interest rates for terms of 18 months or more have been reduced by 0.3%.

With this reduction, the deposit interest rate for a 6-month term is now 8.3%/year. For terms of 7-11 months, it is 8.4%/year; and for terms of 12 months or more, it is 8.5%/year.

However, VietA Bank notes that different interest rates may be applied to some customers compared to the published rates , provided they do not exceed the maximum interest rate stipulated by the State Bank of Vietnam at any given time.

Previously, VietA Bank maintained the second-highest deposit interest rate among banks in the system, second only to ABBank.

ABBank is currently the only bank offering an interest rate of 9% per year for a 13-month term and 9.2% per year for terms of 15 months or more. This interest rate applies to online deposits and deposits made through the app.

Similarly,VIB Bank also reduced deposit interest rates. Online deposit interest rates for deposits from 300 million VND to less than 3 billion VND, with a term of 7-8 months, decreased by 0.2% to 7.7%/year. For terms of 9-11 months, it decreased by 0.1% to 7.8%/year; and for terms of 15-18 months, it decreased by 0.2% to 7.9%/year.

Meanwhile, Orient Commercial Bank (OCB ) announced its second reduction in deposit interest rates since the beginning of May.

Online deposit interest rates for individual customers with terms of 6-15 months have all decreased slightly by 0.1%. 6-month deposits now offer 8%/year, and 8.1%/year for terms from 9-15 months. Terms of 18 months or more maintain an interest rate of 7.9%/year. Meanwhile, 1-month deposits offer 5.3%/year, and 3-month deposits offer 5.45%/year.

TPBank also joined the trend of lowering deposit interest rates. This bank reduced the rate by 0.1% for electronic savings deposits. Currently, the deposit interest rate at TPBank is 7.6%/year for a 6-month term, 7.7%/year for a 12-month term, 7.5%/year for an 18-month term, 7.4%/year for a 24-month term, and 7.3%/year for a 30-month term.

This is the second time this month that TPBank has announced a reduction in deposit interest rates for the aforementioned terms. Interest rates for 1-3 month terms remain at 5.45% per year.

The remaining banks did not change their interest rates today.

Yesterday (May 22), the market saw three banks announce reductions in deposit interest rates: VietBank, KienLong Bank, and Saigonbank.

Since the beginning of May, a series of banks have reduced deposit interest rates, including: VietA Bank, VIB, OCB, Eximbank, MSB, VPBank, TPBank, Vietcombank, Agribank, VietinBank, BIDV, KienLongBank, NamA Bank, NCB, Saigonbank, PVCombank, HDBank, OceanBank, Sacombank, Techcombank, BacA Bank, and VietBank.

The banks that reduced interest rates twice during this period were NCB, VietBank, Eximbank, VPBank, KienLong Bank, Saigonbank, TPBank, and OCB.
