The Vietnamese aerobics team concluded their successful journey at the 32nd SEA Games with the overall first place (5 gold medals). Notably, on the competition day of May 14, the team won a “double” of gold medals in the mixed doubles and 5-person group events. The victories were made possible by the contributions of the athletes from Ho Chi Minh City: Tran Ngoc Thuy Vi, Le Hoang Phong, Vuong Hoai An and Nguyen Che Thanh.

The duo Le Hoang Phong and Tran Ngoc Thuy Vi coordinated well to achieve the highest score of 19.233, thereby winning the gold medal in the mixed doubles. Next, together with Nguyen Viet Anh ( Hai Phong ), Thuy Vi, Hoang Phong, Hoai An and Che Thanh stepped onto the podium to win the 5-person group event with a near-perfect score of 19.611, 2.144 points more than the second-placed Thai team. It can be said that this is a precious gift for the tireless efforts of the young athletes.
Over the years, Ho Chi Minh City has always been a pioneer in developing aerobics, contributing many key players to the Vietnamese team. Before the 32nd SEA Games, the 5-person team event with key members from Ho Chi Minh City aerobics made a big splash when winning the gold medal at the World Championship.
In fencing, although the individual event was not successful, the fencers from Ho Chi Minh City affirmed their position in the team event. Nguyen Tien Nhat, Nguyen Phuoc Den, Hoang Nhat Nam and Truong Tran Nhat Minh excellently defeated the Thai team with a score of 45-33 in the final match of the men's sabre team, contributing another valuable SEA Games gold medal to the Vietnamese sports delegation.

An interesting point on the competition day of May 14, taekwondo fighter Ly Hong Phuc became the 100th gold medal winner for the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 32nd SEA Games. In the men's 74kg combat weight class, the male fighter from Ho Chi Minh City started with a 2-0 victory over his opponent from Myanmar. In the final match with the Thai fighter later, Hong Phuc competed quite calmly to win the overall victory 2-1.

Closing the joy of victory of the day for HCMC sports was the gold medal in the 4x50m mixed diving relay. Nguyen Thanh Loc, Do Dinh Toan (HCMC), Pham Thi Thu (Hai Duong) and Cao Thi Duyen (Thanh Hoa) finished first with a time of 1 minute 06 seconds 73, thereby closing the journey of the Vietnamese diving team at the SEA Games with a total of 14 gold medals and ranked first overall.
