Nghe An approved the policy of Cua Lo deep-water port project with capital of 7.325 billion VND
Nghe An province has just approved the policy to adjust the project to build and operate Cua Lo deep-water port with a total investment of nearly 7.325 billion VND.
At the regular meeting in July 7, the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee agreed on the policy of adjusting the Cua Lo Deep Water Port Construction and Business Project.

Accordingly, the province will adjust the project scale as follows: build 03 berths (of which 2 berths for ships up to 50.000 DWT and 1 berth for ships up to 100.000 DWT), with a total length of 800m, along with The port's rear area has an area of 32 hectares and a system of auxiliary works such as: 1.550 m long breakwater, connecting bridge from the wharf to the wharf, shipping channel, turning and parking area.
The area of land used for the port rear area is about 32 hectares of land. The water surface area used is about 208,15 hectares to build offshore port projects including: Docking station, breakwater, bridge connecting the access bridge with the landing dock; Turnpike area, ship anchorage and navigational channel.
Total investment capital for project implementation is about 7.325 billion VND. Investment phasing into 2 phases: Phase 1 investment capital (2024 - 2028) is 5.250,804 billion VND; Investment capital for phase 2 (2029 - 2030) is 2.074,152 billion VND.
Project implementation progress from the second quarter of 2024 to the fourth quarter of 2024, completing the procedures according to the provisions of law. Phase 1, starting from wharf 06 and wharf 07 (50.000 DWT), constructing 1.200m of breakwaters, connecting bridge 01, shipping channels and maritime aids, roads, architectural works and infrastructure. accompanying service; Implementation period is from 2024 - 2028.
Phase 2, investment in wharf No. 05 (100.000 DWT), construction of 350m breakwater, connecting bridge No. 02, roads, architectural works and accompanying technical infrastructure; Implementation period is from 2029 - 2030.
Emphasizing that this is a key project of the province, therefore, Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee Thai Thanh Quy requested departments and branches to focus on implementing the project.

It is known that Cua Lo Deep Water Port is an important transportation system connecting the national transportation network through Nghe An province such as: Vinh International Airport, Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City railway, National Highway 1A, Coastal road, National Highway 7C..., is the regional logistics hub and the shortest gateway to the sea on the East - West economic corridor, serving transport and receiving goods for Laos and Northeast Thailand.
However, Cua Lo deep-water port infrastructure cannot yet receive ships with a tonnage of over 50.000 DWT... Most goods from Nghe An must go through Nghi Son, Vung Ang, and Hai Phong ports.
