Grassroots mobilization - relying on the people as the foundation.
Deeply committed to the principle of "the people are the foundation" and "using practical effectiveness as the measure," the Command Board of Military Region 3 - Ngai Tu has identified mass mobilization work as a key political task and a vital source of strength for the armed forces in carrying out local military and national defense tasks. Based on this understanding, the unit has proactively developed plans that are realistic, appropriate to the socio-economic conditions, and meet the legitimate needs of the local people.
Instead of spreading resources thinly, the Command of the 3rd Regional Defense Force focuses on the motto: "What the people need, the locality desires, the army can do." This approach ensures that each mass mobilization activity yields tangible and sustainable results. The implementation process is carried out rigorously and synchronously, with smooth coordination with Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front, and political and social organizations at the grassroots level. This helps to maximize social resources and promote the core role of the armed forces in mobilizing the masses.
Over the past year, the unit coordinated and organized more than 10 community outreach activities, attracting hundreds of officers and soldiers to participate with a total socialized funding of over 700 million VND. This demonstrates the sense of responsibility and the spread of solidarity between the military and the people.
The most humane highlight was the Mid-Autumn Festival program for approximately 1,000 children from families receiving government assistance, poor and near-poor households, and workers and laborers in difficult circumstances. Amidst the lanterns and the lively lion dance drums, the children's joy erased distances and fostered a sense of closeness between soldiers and the general public. This activity conveyed a message about the responsibility of the armed forces towards future generations.
Comrade Nguyen Phuong Binh, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Ngai Tu commune, assessed: "The activities of the Command of the 3rd Regional Defense Force in caring for children are very practical, creating high consensus among the people and helping to closely connect the armed forces with the locality."
In the field of rural infrastructure development, the unit mobilized resources and the labor of soldiers to complete one bridge and one rural road with a total cost of over 450 million VND. The completed project facilitates production and improves people's lives.
Colonel Tran Minh Tan, Political Commissar of the Command of Military Region 3, shared: "We determined that each civilian mobilization project must stem from the actual needs of the people, ensuring that each step is done thoroughly, so that the people can clearly see the effectiveness and be proud of the joint efforts of the army." This dedicated approach has built strong trust and brought civilian mobilization work to a deeper level.
Spreading solidarity between the military and the people, building a "people's support base".
The spirit of sharing from the Command of Military Region 3 is also clearly demonstrated during difficult times for the country. In response to the damage caused by natural disasters in the central provinces, the unit's officers and soldiers promptly donated nearly 30 million VND. This is a gesture of compassion and motivation that helps flood victims stabilize their lives as soon as possible.
Mr. Le Hoang Hai, Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Ngai Tu commune, commented: "Despite the difficult conditions, the officers and soldiers are always willing to share. This is a vivid manifestation of the fine qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers."
The unit maintains a tradition of showing gratitude and repaying kindness, demonstrating the principle of "drinking water, remembering the source." On the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, the unit organized visits and presented over 50 gifts to local veterans and former soldiers, totaling nearly 50 million VND. These warm and meaningful gatherings serve as an opportunity to honor those who have contributed, while also fostering connections between generations and educating young people about revolutionary traditions.
Veteran Nguyen Hoang Van (from Ngai Tu commune) said emotionally: “We deeply appreciate the unit's concern. This is a source of encouragement for us to continue upholding the qualities of a soldier and contributing to building our homeland.”
Through practical actions, the image of officers and soldiers of the Command of Military Region 3 has become increasingly endearing in the hearts of the people. The armed forces are the core force protecting the Fatherland, a reliable support in daily life, affirming the relationship between "the army and the people as fish and water," a close, blood-and-flesh bond. This result reflects the efforts of the unit's collective along with the support of the local political system and philanthropists.
Colonel Tran Minh Tan affirmed that in the coming time, the unit will continue to innovate the content and methods of mass mobilization, focusing strongly on the grassroots. The acts of kindness in Ngai Tu are contributing to building a solid "people's support base," creating an important foundation for the armed forces to successfully complete local military and national defense tasks in the new situation.
