'The shared home' unites the community.

By effectively leveraging the people's internal resources, taking advantage of state support funds, and mobilizing social contributions, most residential areas in Thai Nguyen province now have community cultural centers. These spaces connect people and contribute to promoting the movement to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas.

Most residential areas in the province already have community centers to serve community activities.

Currently, the province has nearly 3,400 out of 3,498 cultural centers and sports fields, of which more than 2,200 meet the standards. Most cultural centers in hamlets, villages, and residential areas are functioning effectively. These are the venues for meetings to disseminate the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and regulations to the people. At these cultural centers, the content of community regulations and customs for building a civilized lifestyle is directly developed by the people; and the Party's guidelines and new State policies are fully disseminated to the people.

Recognizing the significance and value of community cultural centers, when residential areas mobilized people to contribute to their construction, everyone readily agreed. Sharing with us, Mr. Ma Dinh Trung, Head of Coc Moc Hamlet, Lam Vy Commune, said: "Based on the needs of the people, the hamlet has built a new, standard-compliant community cultural center since 2023. Although the hamlet already has two cultural centers, there isn't enough seating for the people to hold meetings."

Thanks to the consensus of the people and the support of the State, many new, well-equipped community cultural centers have been built throughout the province, meeting the meeting needs of the people. However, there are still residential areas where the material living conditions of the people are difficult, so they have to rely on the financial support of philanthropists and the State for construction.

For example, in Ban Dinh village, Nghiem Loan commune, out of 113 households, nearly 60% are poor or near-poor. Thanks to the attention and support of the Trade Union of the Central Party Office and the Trade Union of the Social Policy Bank, which provided 500 million VND, and the local government which provided nearly 170 million VND, by early 2025, Ban Dinh will have a standard-compliant cultural house.

Meanwhile, in Pan Xa village, Van Lang commune, a new community center has been in place for the past seven months. This "common house" for the people in the economically disadvantaged Pan Xa area, measuring 116 square meters, was built and donated to the villagers by the Ministry of National Defense at a total cost of over 500 million VND.

Leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism presented the Tam Thai hamlet cultural center in Dong Hy commune with some equipment to support the local arts and culture movement.

Most existing community cultural centers have basically met the requirements regarding area, with indoor facilities including a stage, banners, national flag, portrait of President Ho Chi Minh, a podium, sound system, and enough seating for people to hold meetings. Thanks to this, people have convenient conditions for community activities, meetings, physical exercise, and participation in healthy recreational activities. This not only contributes to improving the spiritual life of the people but also strengthens solidarity and promotes local cultural identity.

Sharing with us, Mr. Ly Quy Song, a respected elder in Goc Thi hamlet, Nam Hoa commune, said: "The Cultural Center is a place that connects people through cultural, artistic, and sports activities. There, people can interact, be educated about community spirit, and satisfy their spiritual needs."

Mr. Ha Van Nang, a member of the Phan Dinh Phung Ward Sports Club, said: "Thanks to the Cultural Center and sports facilities, we residents have the opportunity to participate in cultural activities and exercise every day. Through these activities, we can interact, share experiences in economic development, maintain family happiness, and actively participate in the 'All People Unite to Build a Culturally Rich Life' movement."

The investment in building community cultural centers has contributed to improving the spiritual lives of the people. Furthermore, these centers have become trusted places for the community to preserve, transmit, and promote the traditional cultural values of the nation. They also provide people with access to knowledge about sustainable poverty reduction, improved social skills, and self-defense against online dangers, thereby contributing to maintaining social security and order.
