Each natural disaster leaves behind immeasurable losses. Houses are destroyed, fields are devastated, and village roads are submerged in cold water. In such circumstances, the people are not alone. The soldiers of Uncle Ho's army are always the first to arrive, leading rescue and relief efforts, helping people evacuate from dangerous areas; bringing the elderly and children to safety; and delivering meals, bottles of water, and blankets to isolated households.
On numerous occasions, the media and social networks have shared deeply moving images: a soldier carrying a baby across a raging river; soldiers resting temporarily on muddy ground after hours of duty; entire units hastily eating a meal in the pouring rain to save time to return and rescue civilians... These images not only moved the people but also reinforced their belief in the close bond between the military and the people – a precious tradition that the Vietnam People's Army has built and preserved for the past 80 years.
In the eyes of the people in the flood-stricken areas, soldiers are not only saviors but also the embodiment of faith and hope. The presence of the armed forces has eased anxiety and panic during the days of natural disaster. The dedication, resilience, and sense of responsibility of the soldiers have not only helped stabilize immediate life but also fostered a spirit of solidarity and sharing within the community.
Natural disasters will eventually pass, but the legacy that the soldiers of Uncle Ho left in the hearts of the people will last forever.
