The driver from Binh Thuan said "wrong turn"

(NLDO) - Explaining the reason for going the wrong way on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay highway, the driver said that instead of turning right, he turned left.

On March 9, a representative of Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 6 under Department 6 of the Traffic Police Department ( Ministry of Public Security ) said that they had drawn up a record of a car driver driving in the wrong direction on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway.  

The black car was going the wrong way on the highway.

The offending driver was identified as Mr. TVT (46 years old, residing in Binh Thuan province).

Mr. T. was fined by the traffic police for driving in the wrong direction on a one-way street. According to regulations, Mr. T. will be fined from 18 to 20 million VND and have 4 points deducted from his driver's license.

Mr. T. said that when he reached the end of the Dau Giay - Phan Thiet highway, instead of turning right to Dau Giay to get to Bien Hoa city, he mistakenly turned left to go towards the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay highway.

Because he missed the turn, Mr. T. drove the wrong way for about 200m before being reminded by drivers going in the right direction. After that, Mr. T. went to the right turn.

Earlier, at around 10am on March 8, people traveling on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway were surprised to see a driver driving a car in the wrong direction on the expressway, heading towards Binh Thuan province. Notably, the car driver also flashed his lights to signal vehicles going in the right direction to "get out of the way".
