That's the moment of waking up in the morning, opening the window to let the cool breeze fill the room. It seems autumn arrived last night, waiting outside the door to greet you as you wake up. You like that thought. The cool breeze replaces the stifling heat of summer, calming the mind. Putting aside the daily worries that drag people into a whirlwind of busyness, autumn infuses the space with a touch of wistfulness carried on the wind, like a reminder for everyone to relax… Connect with the present by slowing down, “reading” each step, each glance so as not to rush past each other.
The fast pace of city life makes people unable to stop, afraid to stop. Until one day, caught between gain and loss, they suddenly realize their soul has grown old and withered. In the past, just watching a touching film, admiring a beautiful photograph, or listening to "Calling the Sun" (by musician Trinh Cong Son) would stir their emotions. Have you ever heard someone say, "Losing emotion is losing a lot!" It's when you've walked a path filled with love; when naive infatuations are replaced by calculations and scheming; when your mind can no longer remember those sweet early autumn days, when you sat by the window listening to Ngoc Lan sing, your hand touching...
You remember the autumn photos that person sent you, from a faraway land. They were breathtakingly beautiful, like the golden autumn paintings of the famous artist Levitan that melted so many romantic hearts. You thought that only there could you find autumn. Every time you looked at those photos, your mind wandered to a distant future , wishing that one day you could immerse yourself in the rhythm of life on that autumn road filled with golden leaves.
But then time passes, and everything changes. One day, you let go of all the longing for the summer days and try to forget. That's when you've weathered the stormy days, and your heart finds peace again. You suddenly realize you don't need to dream of Europe; you can still enjoy a complete, breathtakingly beautiful autumn right on your daily commute, or in a quiet corner of your own garden. That's when you quiet your mind to observe and feel, and appreciate more the present and familiar things around you. No need to go far; autumn walks alongside you in the soft sunlight, in the gentle breeze that tousles your hair.
Today, you choose a spot outdoors, under an old tamarind tree, to watch the leaves sway in the air. Strangely, until the end of their lives, leaves dedicate themselves with a magnificent dance in the air before dissolving into Mother Earth to transform into nutrients that nurture new green shoots. Nothing in this life is wasted. Falling leaves also send humanity a message about impermanence. Everything will change. So let us live peacefully, cherishing every moment as seasons come and go.
This morning, I could already feel the arrival of autumn in the streets!
