Specifically, out of 914 observation stations across the country, the temperature at about 300 stations is at 35 degrees Celsius, of which the temperature in Fukushima Prefecture at about 14:00 on August 5 was 8 degrees Celsius.
The capital Tokyo recorded intense heat for the 16th day this year, with temperatures equal to last year's record of 35,9 degrees Celsius.
Nationwide, July's temperature in Japan was 7 degrees Celsius above average - the highest since data began to be tracked in 1,91.
