Anticipating the demand for ornamental plants during Tet (Lunar New Year), nurseries in Khanh Hoa have prepared thousands of potted grapevines in various shapes and sizes. At the A8 Ornamental Grapevine Cooperative in Ninh Phuoc commune, members are working diligently to prune and perfect their plants to meet market demand.
Besides traditional red grape varieties, this year many new varieties such as candy grapes, Muscat Bailey, Kyoho, and seedless black fingers have been introduced into production, attracting traders from many provinces and cities across the country.
Depending on age and variety, each potted grapevine ranges from 60 to 180 cm tall, can bear up to 25 bunches of grapes, and sells for between a few hundred thousand and about 3.5 million VND. Customers often choose potted grapevines with plenty of leaves, buds, and green and ripe grapes to display during Tet (Lunar New Year), hoping for a prosperous and abundant new year.
The ornamental grape market not only contributes to enriching the range of products for Tet (Lunar New Year) celebrations but also opens up an effective direction for developing market-oriented agriculture in Khanh Hoa.
