A post by an author about a class reunion, after being published on Toutiao (a Chinese social media platform), has attracted a lot of attention.

Before the holidays, my high school group, which had been quiet for a while, suddenly became lively. One classmate excitedly sent a message saying that someone had suggested organizing a class reunion during this year's holidays to reconnect and reminisce about old school days.
After some discussion, even the usually quiet members of the group spoke up, expressing their approval of the class reunion idea. Seeing this, the organizer proposed: "A three-day class reunion with fun, all-inclusive service from food, drinks, accommodation to entertainment activities, each person pays 3000 RMB (approximately 10.5 million VND). Register now!"
Immediately after seeing this message, the group chat fell silent, with no one sending any further messages. I quietly looked at the message, recalling the class reunion four years ago. Back then, the homeroom teacher happily announced in the group that a classmate had sponsored all the expenses for the reunion and hoped everyone would actively participate.

Perhaps it was because it was the first class reunion in many years, or because there was a "free sponsor," but that reunion was surprisingly well-attended. However, in the end, the reunion concluded with the costs being split equally because some classmates had expressed the opinion that class reunion expenses should be shared, and not paid entirely by one sponsor.
The homeroom teacher also said that although the student had good intentions in contributing, everyone shouldn't let him pay the entire cost alone. In front of everyone, they all agreed with this idea and happily divided the expenses equally.
Surprisingly, after that class reunion, the friend who had claimed to be sponsoring all the expenses started texting many classmates to borrow money for various reasons. A few people got their money back, but most didn't or only received a partial refund.

Although no one openly discussed it within the group, everyone knew about the classmate borrowing money. Surprisingly, this time, the classmate enthusiastically suggested organizing a class reunion as if nothing had happened.
Initially, I thought, since everyone else was having a class reunion and I live in the countryside, I'd consider joining. But when the organizer presented such a grand plan, whether it was dedicating three days or paying 3000 RMB (approximately 10.5 million VND), it made me lose all interest in participating.
Later, with the support of a few enthusiastic classmates, the class reunion went ahead as planned. On the first day, I saw classmates posting photos on social media; I counted about 7-8 people attending, and everyone seemed happy.
On the second day, the organizer sent another message, saying that the costs would be broken down into installments, no longer requiring a lump sum of 3,000 RMB (approximately 10.5 million VND), and that food expenses would be divided among everyone.

Since then, the class group chat has gone silent again, with no more photos or messages being sent. Of course, I believe that everyone else, like me, hasn't left the group, still silently observing, just not messaging or speaking up anymore.
