Leveraging collective intelligence, daring to think, daring to act.
The tasks assigned by the Air Defense and Air Force Command were quite challenging: carrying out major repairs to extend the overall service life of Su-27 aircraft, performing localized repairs on Su-30 aircraft, and repairing specialized vehicles. However, the Party Committee and the Factory's Board of Directors demonstrated unity, collective intelligence, strategic direction, and a willingness to think outside the box and take decisive action.

Taking advantage of a conversation with the dynamic and proactive director, we gained a better understanding of the tasks of the skilled technicians who specialize in "repairing" jet aircraft... After being assigned by the Air Defense-Air Force Command to carry out a major repair project to extend the service life of Su-27 aircraft, perform localized repairs on Su-30 aircraft, and repair specialized vehicles, the members of the Board of Directors spent many sleepless nights worrying. Previously, extending the service life and performing major repairs on Su-27 and Su-30 aircraft required sending them abroad, which was very costly, time-consuming, and affected the training and combat readiness of air force units. How could they not worry when they were the leading figures, the ones bearing the brunt of the responsibility? Just the worry about providing food, clothing, and shelter for hundreds of employees with decent or higher incomes was enough to cause them great concern.
Upon arriving at Workshop 6 (a workshop likened to a miniature factory, the leading "repair shop" for jet aircraft), we were truly impressed by the enthusiastic and serious work atmosphere of the staff, engineers, and technical workers. Looking at the modern jet aircraft, we understood that the boundless joy of these dedicated workers lies in the fruits of their creative labor embodied in their creations.
From within difficulties and challenges, the soldiers and workers of Factory A32 have further demonstrated their courage, skill, and capabilities. With the motto of promoting collective intelligence, the Party Committee and Board of Directors of the factory have encouraged the staff and engineers to proactively explore, research, and propose many initiatives and technical improvements, contributing to increased work efficiency...

Upholding the spirit of hard work and creativity, over the years, the team of officers, engineers, and technical workers have come up with many innovative technical improvements with high practical value, contributing positively to the repair of various types of aircraft and saving the State and the Army billions of dong. Notable examples include the initiative "Renewing the heat dissipation plate and manufacturing a hydraulic cooling system for Su-27 and Su-30MK2 aircraft" by Lieutenant Colonel Le Cong Cu, Head of the pipeline team, nicknamed "the golden hand". The project "Designing and manufacturing some metal parts on Su-27 and Su-30 aircraft" by Colonel Pham Ba Nguyen, Director of Factory A32, was recognized at the Air Defense-Air Force level.
It is known that, to promote the movement of technical innovation and improvement, the factory established and maintains a young scientific and technical innovation team consisting of engineers under 35 years old. Notably, from 2014 to the present, this team has had hundreds of technical innovation projects recognized and applied in practice, serving the aircraft repair work on the assembly line. Currently, 100% of the engineers know Russian and are attending English and computer courses to supplement their knowledge and skills.
The pride of the soldier-worker
Lieutenant Colonel Le Van Bac, Head of Political Affairs at Factory A32, shared: “We soldiers and technicians will never forget the moment we eagerly awaited the test flight of Su-27 aircraft number 8526 on a morning in May 2016. And then that historic moment arrived, the most anticipated and happiest moment for us soldiers and technicians after nearly 15 years of diligent research and preparation. That day, all eyes were fixed on the blue sky. And then, Su-27 number 8526 accelerated on the runway and then powerfully soared into the blue sky, witnessed by hundreds of officers and workers, all erupting in joy. After two takeoffs and landings lasting more than 40 minutes, performing the maneuvers as instructed by the commander, the aircraft landed at the airfield, deployed its parachute to decelerate, and slowly moved to the parking area.”

The successful repair of Su-27 and Su-30 fighter jets at the A32 Factory not only demonstrates the remarkable progress of the Vietnamese People's Air Force's jet repair technicians, extending their service life, but also contributes to affirming Vietnam's position internationally. Even the notoriously demanding Russian experts were very pleased with the creative work ethic, perseverance, and eagerness to learn shown by hundreds of engineers and workers at the A32 Factory. Even the Russian defense news website VPK noted that Vietnam has independently repaired and upgraded Su-27 and Su-30 fighters at its new factory in Da Nang. Thus, domestic aircraft repair and upgrades significantly increase the operational readiness of fighter jets and affirm the prestige and skill of the A32 technicians.
In mid-June, participating in the first Creative Labor Award in the Army Trade Union, Factory A32 had 3 projects and initiatives that won high awards, including 1 first prize and 2 third prizes. The collective of Factory A32 was awarded a certificate of commendation by the Ministry of National Defense.
