Major General and musician Nguyen Duc Trinh, Chairman of the Vietnam Musicians Association, said he was very surprised when the number of entries was announced. Nearly 700 songs submitted in 10 months (from February to December 2024) is a large number for a specialized songwriting competition. Notably, the competition brought together diverse generations: from veteran musicians like Truong Quang Luc (over 90 years old); Major General, doctor, and musician Nguyen Hong Son, to young talents like Hoang Hong Ngoc and Huyen Ngoc... “This is a great victory, showing the absolute sincerity and trust of the music community in the highest representative body of the people,” affirmed musician Nguyen Duc Trinh.

According to musician Nguyen Duc Trinh, the breakthrough of this campaign is that musicians have broken away from the dry, conventional style of campaigning. The works delve into the moods and thoughts of each National Assembly delegate, capturing the aspirations and sentiments of the people.
Composer An Hieu, author of the song "The Vietnamese National Assembly - Representatives of the People," chose a heroic and vigorous style, but with a catchy and memorable chorus so that everyone can sing along after just a few listens; composer Do Hoang Linh, author of the song "Emotions of a New Citizen," used an open and liberal spirit to win over the younger generation; composer Trinh Xuan Hao, with his song "Vietnamese Intelligence," drew inspiration from General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's statement: "National Assembly representatives must speak the voice of the people," to create melodies that are both political and heartfelt...
At the end of June 2025, the lobby on the first floor of the National Assembly building transformed into a magnificent art stage for the closing ceremony and awards presentation of the songwriting contest about the National Assembly and People's Councils. People's Artist Quoc Hung opened the event with a moving performance of "A Vow for the People" (composed by Do Hong Quan, lyrics by Minh San). The artist said he spent six months working with the composer to refine every nuance of expression for this special song. Meritorious Artist Vu Thang Loi expressed his happiness at singing about the National Assembly for the first time right at the National Assembly building: "The lyrics express the dedication of the delegates as they represent the people and speak the most honest voice."
To ensure that musical works continue to shine not only on stage or in art programs but also live in the hearts of the people, becoming a part of the public's spiritual life, the National Assembly Office, in coordination with the Vietnam Musicians Association, has planned to implement a multi-channel dissemination strategy, incorporating them into regular music programs, commemorative programs, and important political events of the National Assembly.
Composer Nguyen Duc Trinh stated that the 33 winning songs will be compiled into an album and USB commemorative volume titled "80 Years of Glorious Spring," which includes a collection of 80 songs written about the National Assembly and People's Councils. It will integrate QR codes and karaoke versions for easy access, enjoyment, and singing practice; and encourages National Assembly delegates to bring the music USBs back to their localities for promotion and dissemination.
