Currently, localities throughout the province are focusing on harvesting the summer-autumn rice crop. To speed up the process, many people are taking advantage of favorable weather conditions, mobilizing machinery, and harvesting rice day and night.

At 9 PM in the fields of Tan Lam Huong commune, Thach Ha district, combine harvesters were still operating at full capacity. Worried about unpredictable weather, the people concentrated their manpower on harvesting the rice crops quickly and efficiently.

Taking advantage of the favorable weather, farmers harvested rice throughout the night, both to dry the rice and to avoid the rain.

Currently, localities throughout the province are urging people to mobilize manpower and machinery to harvest day and night. In Cam Xuyen district, which has the largest area of summer-autumn rice in the province with over 9,000 hectares, more than 80% of the area has been harvested so far. This year, the rice crop is bountiful and the prices are good, with traders buying directly from the fields, so the people are very happy.

For the 2024 summer-autumn crop season, Ha Tinh province planted over 44,800 hectares of rice. According to assessments, the yield reached 51.58 quintals/hectare, 1.33 quintals/hectare higher than the 2023 summer-autumn crop season. To date, over 60% of the area has been harvested. Ha Tinh aims to complete the harvest of the entire area before September 5th.

According to forecasts, the weather will remain quite favorable in the coming days. Experts advise people to proactively harvest the remaining crops quickly to avoid losses caused by extreme weather conditions.
