Axios reported on June 19th that, following a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon, two delegations, led by US special envoy Steve Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, are traveling to Switzerland, where the first round of talks with Iran on a nuclear agreement is expected to take place.

Negotiator Jared Kushner, son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, arrived earlier. On the Iranian side, Mr. Araqchi is scheduled to arrive in Switzerland on June 20th.
Both the US and Iran have expressed their intention to hold technical talks to reach a long-term security agreement. However, neither side has yet revealed when these meetings will take place.
The previous day, due to escalating hostilities in Lebanon, US Vice President JD Vance canceled talks in Switzerland, which were scheduled for June 19. Iran also announced the suspension of the entire 60-day negotiating framework with the US, citing Israel's continued attacks on southern Lebanon.
