Embracing the title of "spreading national treasures"

In 2017, My Hanh Group Joint Stock Company (MHG) was established with five main business areas: providing telecommunications products and services; researching and cultivating Ngoc Linh ginseng and other medicinal herbs; manufacturing and distributing products from Ngoc Linh ginseng; investing in and developing eco-tourism resort real estate; and ginseng herbal spas.

My Hanh Group (MHG) is presented with flattering words, stating that its purpose and guiding principle is to build and develop a sustainable value chain for the Ngoc Linh ginseng production industry. MHG has strongly promoted the MHG Ngoc Linh ginseng brand and announced revenue increases of 100% to 300% year-on-year.

According to MHG, after only a few years of operation, the group has expanded its network of stores and dealerships throughout the country, with annual revenue reaching trillions of VND.

According to the business information portal, My Hanh Group, owned by Ms. Pham My Hanh (1980), has its headquarters at 39 Nguyen Quoc Tri, Trung Hoa Ward, Cau Giay District, Hanoi, and has many representative offices in Hanoi, Quang Ninh, and Hoa Binh ... Ms. Hanh is the Chairwoman of the Board of Directors.

Ms. Hanh is introduced as a businesswoman with a strong desire to develop and promote Vietnam's "national treasure." She was reportedly "revived" by Ngoc Linh ginseng after an exhausting trip exploring Ngoc Linh mountain peak in 2014.

My Hanh Group Joint Stock Company was established after that fortuitous encounter, with the desire to preserve and develop Ngoc Linh ginseng, bringing the nutritional value of this precious herb to serve the people and, further, to build the MHG Ngoc Linh ginseng brand in the international market.

According to MHG's own introduction, unlike many other companies that simply buy, process, and brand products, MHG starts from the source and implements a closed-loop process. This includes investing in and developing Ngoc Linh ginseng plantations under the canopy of pristine forests in Quang Nam, collaborating on product research and development, manufacturing at modern factories ensuring food safety and hygiene, and building a nationwide network of showrooms and dealerships to showcase and introduce its products.

In addition, MHG introduced Ms. My Hanh to the construction of the Ngoc Linh MHG eco-resort in Mang Den, Kon Plong, Kontum. This will be an experiential destination for tourists, especially investors in Ngoc Linh MHG ginseng.

Also with widespread media coverage, MHG announced that in 2021, dozens of hectares of medicinal herb gardens, ginseng gardens, and several hectares of Ngoc Linh ginseng gardens were successfully planted in Nam Tra My, Quang Nam and Mang Den, Kontum.

There is no ginseng cultivation project as advertised.

Pham My Hanh is known for her business activities since she was a student, initially as a distributor of phone SIM cards, electronics, office equipment, etc. Later, Ms. Hanh became involved in many fields such as telecommunications and fire safety equipment.

In recent years, Ms. Hanh has become quite famous, receiving many accolades such as "Outstanding Vietnamese Businesswoman of 2019" and the "Golden Rose Cup". During the Covid-19 pandemic, Ms. Hanh was also featured in the media for her participation in charitable activities, donating hundreds of thousands of essential gifts and medical equipment to those in need and frontline healthcare workers.

My Hanh Group's development orientation continues to prioritize the development of products from Ngoc Linh ginseng, with many new products such as powdered milk, tea, cakes, effervescent tablets, etc.

However, recently, many people have complained that My Hanh Group does not have any Ngoc Linh ginseng cultivation projects as advertised. Many people believed this because they saw the group's headquarters advertised as very grand and with numerous awards.

According to Tuoi Tre newspaper, the provinces of Quang Nam and Kon Tum have confirmed that there are no investment projects for the cultivation of Ngoc Linh ginseng by My Hanh Group in their areas.

According to scientific studies, Ngoc Linh ginseng contains up to 52 saponin compounds, twice the amount of saponins found in Korean ginseng. In particular, saponin MR2 accounts for approximately 50% of the total main saponins, possessing many important pharmacological effects for the human body, and more than 24 types of saponins cannot be found in other types of ginseng.

Many health benefits of Ngoc Linh ginseng have been proven, such as anti-aging, stress reduction, combating mental fatigue, treating pharyngitis, regulating cardiovascular function and blood pressure, enhancing detoxification, boosting immunity, and supporting cancer treatment...

On the morning of November 10th, the Cau Giay District Police (Hanoi) announced that they had issued a decision to initiate a criminal case, indict and temporarily detain Ms. Pham My Hanh (43 years old, residing in Trung Hoa Ward, Cau Giay District), Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of My Hanh Group Joint Stock Company, on charges of fraud and appropriation of property, as stipulated in Article 174 of the Penal Code.

According to initial information, during the course of her operations, Ms. Hanh provided false information about her company's investment project to cultivate Ngoc Linh ginseng in several provinces and cities, claiming it would generate high profits.

Ms. Pham My Hanh raised 1.264 billion VND from many people, then used a small portion to pay interest to investors.
