"Congratulations to Barcelona on winning La Liga in the 2024/25 season" was the short message posted on Real Madrid's fan page in the early hours of May 16th, following Barcelona's victory over Espanyol in round 36 of La Liga.

Real congratulates Barca. |
Posting congratulatory messages to rivals for winning titles is something Barcelona and Real Madrid have often done over the years. Not only in domestic competitions, but Barca also congratulated Real when their Madrid rivals won the Champions League.
Three points against Espanyol helped Barca become the new La Liga champions, completing a domestic treble alongside the two titles they won from Real Madrid in the final: the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup. The Catalan club had previously achieved this feat in the 2017/18 season.
Speaking after leading Barca to the league title, coach Hansi Flick said: "It was a great season, but I know Barca can do even better. I was a little sad after being eliminated from the Champions League by Inter, but with three domestic titles in hand, I've forgotten that defeat. The players and fans are all very happy."
"We haven't lost a single game in the second half of La Liga so far, which is unbelievable," the German coach added.
For Yamal personally, this was his second La Liga title in history, an achievement equal to what Cristiano Ronaldo has accomplished in his nearly decade-long career with Real Madrid. Remarkably, Yamal was not yet 18 years old.
