This is the first time the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association has organized a painting contest on cultural heritage to contribute to preserving and promoting the cultural identity and value of the national cultural heritage.

On the morning of June 2, the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association launched a painting contest with the theme "Vietnamese cultural heritage through painting" at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Arts.
According to the organizers, the contest is for art lovers, encouraging young artists, art students at universities, colleges specializing in fine arts and cultural-art schools nationwide. Vietnamese students abroad to create a playground for artists.
The authors participated in the contest by drawing pictures with the content showing the value of tangible and intangible cultural heritages, scenic spots in all regions and regions of Vietnam with a free expression style.
Entries must have a size (length and width) of not less than 60cm, painted on canvas, with materials such as oil paint, lacquer, Acrylic, silk painting, graphic painting, etc.
The total prize of the contest is worth 960 million VND, with 27 prizes, including: 1 Excellent prize (100 million VND); 1 first prize (75 million VND); 2 Second prizes (50 million VND each); 3 Third prizes (40 million VND each); 20 consolation prizes (10 million VND each).
In addition, 73 works were selected as finalists, each of which was paid 5 million VND in profit and awarded with a Certificate; 100 works, including 27 winning works and 73 shortlisted works, will be exhibited at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum and some other cultural sites.
Through the contest, the Organizing Committee wants to create conditions for young artists to have the opportunity to learn, express their love for cultural heritage, and express their ideas and creativity in their painting compositions; thereby encouraging, motivating and creating a movement to love Vietnamese cultural heritage, preserving and honoring the priceless values of the national cultural heritage, spreading the love of cultural heritage among today's youth.
The contest "Vietnamese cultural heritage through painting" will contribute with organizations and units of the Association to have more practical, specific and meaningful activities in the common cause of preserving and promoting the value of national cultural heritage.
The painting contest "Vietnamese cultural heritage through painting" will be held from May 5 to September 2023. After the judging period, the announcement of awards and awarding of prizes to the winning authors is expected to take place on the occasion of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 9, 2023).
