Attending the meeting were Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Pham Duc Tien; members of the City Party Committee Standing Committee: Hoang Khanh Hung, Head of the City's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Dang Ngoc Tran, Head of the City's Internal Affairs Department; Nguyen Chi Tai, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; and Nguyen Thi Ai Van, Chairwoman of the City's Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.
Speaking at the meeting, the Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City, Nguyen Thi Ai Van, emphasized that in recent times, prominent Buddhist dignitaries in Hue City have shown strong support and consensus in preserving and promoting patriotic traditions, building and strengthening national unity; effectively implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws, and actively participating in activities organized by the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels.
“This gathering is an opportunity for us to proudly share the glorious history of our nation, to remember the immense contributions of our ancestors who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of our country; it is a moment to rekindle patriotism, self-reliance, and determination to build Hue City and, together with the whole of Vietnam, a strong and prosperous nation; to confidently move forward into a new era – an era of national growth towards greater wealth, prosperity, and happiness,” affirmed Ms. Nguyen Thi Ai Van.

At the same time, we trust that the exemplary Buddhist dignitaries of Hue will continue to uphold their roles and responsibilities, and with their prestige and influence, always promote the patriotic tradition, walk alongside the nation, "live a good life and practice virtuous conduct," for the peace, happiness, prosperity , and development, unite with the people, and make practical contributions to the cause of national unity to build and develop Hue City to be worthy of being a centrally-governed city, becoming increasingly prosperous and beautiful.
At the meeting, more than 80 delegates, including prominent Buddhist dignitaries in Hue, were informed about the socio -economic situation and some issues related to the reorganization of administrative units in Hue City.
The dignitaries exchanged views on the coordinated actions between the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Hue City and the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city in the past period; disseminating information about the meaning and purpose of the Vesak Great Ceremony; emphasizing the charitable and humanitarian activities of Hue Buddhism in the city; and promoting the participation of Buddhist followers in environmental protection and climate change adaptation…

In Hue City – the cradle of Buddhism in the country – prominent Buddhist dignitaries have upheld the spirit of "Protecting the nation and ensuring the people's well-being, accompanying the nation" and practicing engaged Buddhist philosophy, actively participating in activities to build, protect, and develop their homeland. Following the motto "Buddhism - Nation - Socialism" set forth by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Hue Buddhism has, in recent years, effectively implemented the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws; actively participating in patriotic emulation movements, building a cultured life, new rural areas, and civilized urban areas.
At the same time, the organization holds numerous Buddhist retreats and summer camps for young people, contributing to the education of morality, lifestyle, filial piety traditions, and civic awareness. It encourages Buddhists to participate in humanitarian and charitable activities, social welfare programs, and support for the poor, vulnerable, families with meritorious service, and underprivileged students; building houses for the needy and solidarity, eliminating temporary and dilapidated housing in the city; and opening free charitable clinics…
In particular, Buddhism actively participates in disease and disaster prevention and control; notably, in supporting people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, natural disasters, and floods.
