Developing Party members among high school and university students is of great importance in strengthening the Party's "youthful vitality," creating a source of successor cadres, and ensuring a continuous and stable transition between generations of cadres and Party members. At the same time, it creates a vibrant atmosphere of competition in learning and training at high schools, colleges, and universities in the province.

Recognizing that developing Party members among high school and university students is one of the important tasks of Party building in general and Party member development in particular, the Youth Union of An Giang University and the Youth Union of the Pedagogical Practice High School continuously promote their role in nurturing outstanding Youth Union members. In addition, they regularly focus on propagating and educating revolutionary ideals, raising awareness, and building aspirations for Party membership among Youth Union members and young people. At the same time, they do a good job of recommending outstanding high school and university Youth Union members for the Party to consider.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tu Quyen, a member of the Executive Committee of the Youth Union of An Giang University, said that in recent years, the Youth Union of An Giang University and the Youth Union of the Pedagogical Practice High School have introduced many outstanding members to the Party for consideration of admission, with the number increasing year by year. Recently, on the occasion of the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union , at the revolutionary historical site of the Steel Wire Pole (Long Dien A commune, Cho Moi district), the Youth Union of An Giang University, in coordination with the Party Committee of An Giang University, organized a ceremony to present the decision to admit 18 outstanding Youth Union members into the Party. “Admission to the Party at this historical site is an opportunity for Youth Union members to learn about the history and traditions of our people's struggle, and to gain a deeper understanding of their responsibilities to the Party and the people. Through this, it enhances the pride and honor of new Party members joining the ranks of the Party,” Ms. Tu Quyen shared.

For Co To Secondary and High School (Co To town, Tri Ton district), developing Party members among students is one of the important tasks in Party building work in general and Party member development in particular. According to Nguyen Minh Toan, Secretary of the Youth Union of Co To Secondary and High School, developing Party members among students aims to select, train, and recruit outstanding students into the Party. Based on this, it strengthens the Party's "youthful energy," creates a source of successor cadres; increases the number and quality of Party members, contributing to improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party organization, meeting the requirements and tasks of the country in the new situation…

According to Mr. Toan, the work of developing Party members among students has achieved many noteworthy results. In the 2024-2025 school year, Co To Secondary and High School will recruit 4 new Party members, mainly from graduating students. “Most students have good moral character, outstanding academic achievements; they have a positive political awareness and ideals, so the process of considering their Party membership is effective. At the same time, the development of information technology helps to raise the political awareness of Youth Union members and students,” Mr. Toan added.

However, in reality, the work of developing Party members among high school and university students still faces many difficulties and limitations. Political awareness and revolutionary ideals among students are not yet profound; political and ideological education remains superficial, lacking the environment and conditions for students to strive to join the Party. In addition, students face excessive academic pressure, lacking sustainability in their efforts and self-improvement. Furthermore, the work of identifying, nurturing, and recommending outstanding Youth Union members is not consistent across schools…

Therefore, in the coming period, high schools, colleges, and universities in the province will strengthen the dissemination and education of revolutionary ideals, ethics, and lifestyles for union members through political activities, branch meetings, and clubs. On the other hand, they will create conditions for union members to train, contribute, and mature through volunteer movements, scientific research, entrepreneurship, and social activities… Through this, they will build a favorable environment for union members to develop comprehensively and form the right motivation in striving to join the Party…
