Infrastructure development is fundamental.

Recognizing the crucial role of transportation infrastructure in regional and inter-provincial development to become one of the "new growth poles," Thanh Hoa province has prioritized allocating investment capital to a transportation system that is synchronized, interconnected, and harmoniously balanced across different modes of transport; connecting with the North-South expressway interchanges and economic centers and industrial zones.

The road from Thanh Hoa City to Tho Xuan Airport has been upgraded, creating a favorable environment for development and attracting investment.

With the traditional Lunar New Year approaching, construction sites for key projects in the province are becoming more urgent and bustling than ever. Construction contractors are focusing on accelerating progress, creating a vibrant work atmosphere for the new year.

At the construction site of the Xuan Quang bridge, over 1km long and considered the longest bridge across the Ma River, part of the project connecting National Highway 1A with National Highway 45 from Hoang Xuan commune (Hoang Hoa district) to Thieu Quang commune (Thieu Hoa district), hundreds of engineers, workers, and machinery are busily completing the remaining sections to ensure the bridge is completed and opened for technical traffic as planned. Not far away, the construction site of Sub-project 3, from Hoang Kim commune (Hoang Hoa district) to Thieu Long commune (Thieu Hoa district), resounds with the noise of machinery, with workers remaining on site to complete the remaining items.

According to Le Huy Cuong, Head of the Economic and Infrastructure Department of Hoang Hoa District: “The sub-project has a length of 5.25km with a total investment of 307 billion VND, with the Hoang Hoa District People's Committee as the investor. Currently, the contractor has basically completed the sub-project and is focusing on completing the remaining items to ensure the set progress. This project connects National Highway 1A and National Highway 45 with the North-South Expressway via the Thieu Giang interchange, aiming to create space to promote the development of industry, trade, services, tourism , and logistics services in the area. At the same time, it aims to maximize the investment efficiency of the North-South Expressway running through the district.”

From 2020 to the present, the province has invested in upgrading, expanding, and constructing new national and provincial roads with a total length of 594.9 km. Among these, several important projects have been completed and put into use, such as: the North-South Expressway (Eastern section); the road connecting Sam Son City with the Nghi Son Economic Zone; the East-West Boulevard in Thanh Hoa City, from Rung Thong town to National Highway 1A... In addition, several large projects have commenced construction in the province, including: the road from Bim Son Industrial Park to the coastal road section from Nga Son to Hoang Hoa; the Van Thien to Ben En road; the road connecting National Highway 1A and National Highway 45 from Hoang Xuan commune (Hoang Hoa) to Thieu Long commune (Thieu Hoa)... The plan to develop and announce Nghi Son Seaport into a Class I port, with the potential to become a special port, and to add Lach Sung Seaport to the overall plan for the development of Vietnamese seaports has also been completed. Complete the preparation and submission for approval of the Tho Xuan International Airport Master Plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, and the project for socialized investment and operation of Tho Xuan Airport with a capacity of approximately 5 million passengers/year.

The construction unit is concentrating resources and personnel to accelerate the construction progress of the Xuan Quang bridge.

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Transport Nguyen Duc Trung: “Investing in the creation of a modern transportation system linked to economic and urban corridors has been, is, and will continue to expand new development spaces, new resources, and new opportunities for the province's development. Currently, the department is focusing on implementing the medium-term public investment plan and the project to attract investment in the form of public-private partnerships (PPP) to develop transportation infrastructure. Along with that, we are preparing and approving the pre-feasibility study report for the Eastern branch of Ring Road 3 from Hoang Hoa district to Quang Xuong district; the inter-regional connecting road from the Ho Chi Minh Highway in Thanh Hoa province to National Highway 6 in Hoa Binh province; and the road connecting Thanh Hoa city with Ngoc Lac district and other western districts..."

To date, the province has 35 recognized urban areas; the Nghi Son Economic Zone is one of the eight key economic zones nationwide; 23 industrial sub-zones within the Nghi Son Economic Zone and 19 industrial zones in other localities in the province are developing strongly, gradually investing in synchronized infrastructure to meet the requirements of secondary investors, making Thanh Hoa a production, processing, and manufacturing center of the North Central region.

During her visit to Thanh Hoa province, Ms. Esra Bora, General Director of CMA-CGM Vietnam JSC, expressed her admiration for the province's well-developed infrastructure and comprehensive transportation network. Ms. Esra Bora emphasized: “For CMA-CGM Group in general and CMA-CGM Vietnam JSC in particular, Thanh Hoa's development is not only a potential but also a strategic priority. Especially with its diverse export product structure and the ongoing investment in industrial zones and clusters, the company will seize these opportunities to further invest in developing diverse services and connecting to numerous ports.”

With its innovative thinking and strategic vision, Thanh Hoa is actively mobilizing resources to invest in breakthrough infrastructure development, creating momentum to boost socio-economic growth, and gradually realizing the "aspiration for prosperity" by building and developing Thanh Hoa into a new growth pole in the North of the country.
