Tuan Son commune was established on the basis of merging 3 communes: Minh Son, Minh Hoa and Hoa Thang. Before the merger, only Minh Son commune was recognized as meeting new rural standards. Determining that production development and income increase are important keys to building new rural areas, the Party Committee, government and people in the commune have proactively exploited the available potentials and advantages, thereby building effective production models.
For more than 15 years, Ms. Bui Thi Thao's family in Cooc Mo village, Tuan Son commune has been involved in the forestry tree nursery business. Ms. Thao said: With favorable conditions in terms of climate, land, and product consumption market, my family has researched and developed a model of acacia nursery. Currently, on average, my family sells about 1.3 million seedlings each year, bringing in a profit of over 250 million VND.
Also taking advantage of suitable natural conditions, for many years now, Mr. Luong Van Tuyen's family in Keo village, Tuan Son commune has researched and developed a model of growing ornamental peach trees. Mr. Tuyen said: My family has been growing peach trees for more than 20 years. Realizing that peach trees grow and develop in accordance with the natural conditions here, I have proactively learned more techniques and planted peach trees to expand the area and further enhance the value of peach trees. Currently, my family maintains 2 hectares of peach trees with over 2,000 trees. On average, each year, after deducting expenses, the family earns about 300 million VND in profit.
Along with the two families mentioned above, in recent times, taking advantage of available potentials and advantages, many households in Tuan Son commune have proactively converted their crop structure appropriately, focusing on developing forest planting models, forestry tree nursery, peach blossom development... At the same time, relevant levels and sectors have created favorable conditions to support people to participate in production support programs and projects of national target programs; develop ornamental peach products into 3-star OCOP products; build infrastructure to support production development; support technical training...
Mr. Le Tien Dung, Deputy Head of the Economic Department of Tuan Son Commune, said: Currently, the commune has 28 hectares of ornamental peach trees. At the same time, the commune has developed a number of concentrated forest wood material areas such as the acacia area with an area of over 2,049 hectares, the eucalyptus area with an area of about 3,000 hectares; there are 900 families and facilities producing forestry seedlings (both for business and for family forest planting needs). Taking advantage of available wood materials, people and businesses have invested in building 35 facilities and 5 factories (large scale) to process products from planted forest wood. Forest planting alone brings people over 38 billion VND/year; revenue from peeled wood and plywood production is about 250 billion VND and creates jobs for 700 - 1,000 workers with an average income of 6 - 10 million VND/person/month.
Along with developing key production models such as afforestation, tree nursery, and ornamental peach growing, people in Tuan Son commune have built and developed a number of other production models such as cultivation, animal husbandry, fruit tree planting... (the total area for planting agricultural crops annually reaches 1,543 hectares, the total output of grain food is maintained at 5,660 tons/year; 6 large livestock models apply semi-industrial livestock farming associated with solving environmental pollution to ensure disease safety).
Thanks to the promotion of production development, it has contributed to increasing the income of local people. In 2025, the average income per capita in Tuan Son commune is estimated to reach nearly 46 million VND/person/year, an increase of nearly 8.5 million VND compared to 2020. At the same time, it contributes to the gradual completion of the criteria in new rural construction. To date, Tuan Son commune has achieved 10/19 criteria.
Mr. Hoang Minh Phuc, Chairman of Tuan Son Commune People's Committee said: Promoting the achieved results, in the coming time, the Commune People's Committee will continue to coordinate with relevant units to deploy solutions to support people in developing effective production models. Specifically, focusing on implementing national target programs in general, including projects and sub-projects on production development; continuing to propagate, train, and support people in converting appropriate and quality crop and livestock structures; building production and consumption linkage chains to further enhance the value of agricultural and forestry products... contributing to completing the goals and tasks of building new rural areas in the commune.
With the achieved results and the specific solutions and directions pointed out, we believe that in the coming time, production development in Tuan Son commune will continue to have more positive changes to achieve the goals of socio-economic development and new rural construction in the area.
