Full of Vietnamese spirit and identity
The Little Trang Quynh: The Legend of Kim Nguu directed by Trinh Lam Tung, produced by Alpha Animation Studio, is an animated film exploiting folk cultural materials, developed from the animated series Trang Quynh in his childhood, which has reached millions of views on YouTube. The film's script is a combination and innovation of two famous folk stories: the legend of the golden buffalo in West Lake ( Hanoi ), the miracle at Kim Nguu Pagoda (Bac Ninh) and the legend of Lac Long Quan, Au Co and the battles to destroy monsters in Linh Nam Chich Quai .

According to director Trinh Lam Tung, the biggest highlight of the film is the combination of folk legends and modern spirit, bringing a mysterious story that is still youthful, humorous, and accessible to today's audience.
This 3D animated film was made entirely by Vietnamese people, from the script, art design to special effects and music , mobilizing hundreds of workers, lasting 18 months. Compared to the world level, the production cost of 3D animated films in Vietnam is very low, maybe only 1/10 or even 1/20 compared to projects in Hollywood or Korea, Japan, China.
Meanwhile, De Men: Adventure to the Swamp Village (Director: Mai Phuong, produced by Cineplus) is inspired by the classic children's literature work by writer To Hoai. The film tells the story of De Men and De Trui's adventure in the Swamp Village - a place that used to be a lush green field but is now a garbage collection area, full of lurking dangers. The crew has adapted some details to make the film more accessible to modern audiences. The countryside setting in the original story was transformed into the city of Hanoi, with famous locations such as Lenin Park, Hanoi Flag Tower, Long Bien Bridge, etc.

Approaching international technical standards
Director Mai Phuong said: "To prepare for the film project De Men: Adventure to the Swamp Village , we spent 10 years trying to learn and gain experience. During the implementation process, the film crew had to overcome many technical and special effects obstacles.

Up to now, this problem is no longer too big an obstacle, but the important thing is the content. We try to build the script to keep the spirit of the work De Men Diary but bring a new breath, more in line with modern trends."
Director Trinh Lam Tung also acknowledged that in order for Vietnamese animation to truly attract audiences, it is necessary to first seriously invest in the script - both in terms of content quality and entertainment, emotions and messages, and at the same time create characters with Vietnamese identity. The film also needs to have cultural depth so that both children and adults can find empathy. In addition, he affirmed: "We must upgrade technology and visual aesthetics, because Vietnamese audiences are now familiar with international animation standards. We cannot conquer them just by loving the profession, but by producing truly quality products."

Technically, the production director of the film Trang Quynh nhi: Truyen thuy Kim Nguu Nong Manh Cu commented: "The technique of making 3D animation films in Vietnam has been making steady strides. Although it cannot be compared to long-standing animation industries such as the US, Japan or Korea... many Vietnamese studios have gradually approached international standards."
M ON THE ROAD FOR DOMESTIC ANIMATED FILMS
"We are very happy to have 2 Vietnamese 3D animation projects released in theaters this summer. Technically, compared to animated films from 5-10 years ago, it is clear that these 2 films have made great progress.
Both films have stories and characters that are very familiar to Vietnamese audiences, but the important thing is how to turn those familiar things into attractive works with a modern style. I believe that the audience, especially children and parents, will be very excited to watch the films. Hopefully these two films will be successful and pave the way for many other Vietnamese animation projects to be released in theaters."
