On the evening of November 25th, the closing ceremony of the 24th Vietnam Film Festival took place at the Army Theater (Ho Chi Minh City).
Also attending the event were Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung; Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department Lai Xuan Mon; Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong - Head of the Steering Committee of the 24th Vietnam Film Festival; and Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Tran Thi Dieu Thuy - Co-Head of the Film Festival Steering Committee.

At the beginning of the closing ceremony, the organizers shared words of condolences and observed a minute of silence for those who lost their lives due to the recent natural disasters and floods. The organizers also called on those attending the closing ceremony and viewers watching the live broadcast to take action to share and help those affected by the natural disaster.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Director of the Vietnam Film Department Dang Tran Cuong affirmed that the past two years have been a period of strong growth for Vietnamese cinema. “We have witnessed many box office records being set; many Vietnamese films have achieved impressive revenues, bringing audiences back to theaters with excitement and pride.”
Vietnam is one of the very few countries in the world that has both exceeded pre-COVID-19 levels in terms of film production and box office revenue. The proportion of Vietnamese films... "Achieving nearly 70% of screenings in theaters demonstrates the enduring vitality and strong growth of the national film industry. These successes did not come by chance, but are the culmination of many factors."
After five days of vibrant and exciting film festivals, the Director extended his congratulations to the artists and film crews honored at today's closing ceremony. "The Vietnam Film Department always considers the success of film production units as its own success, and is committed to working together to build a professional and sustainable environment for the Vietnamese film industry to take off in the new era," he said.

That night, the most anticipated moment was when Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh and Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung announced the Golden Lotus Award - in the feature film category - for the film "Red Rain" by the People's Army Film Studio. This film also achieved a record-breaking box office revenue for Vietnamese cinema, earning nearly 714 billion VND.

The Silver Lotus Award went to the films "Underground - The Sun in the Darkness", "Battle in the Air", and "Sister-in-law". The Jury Award was given to the film "Mai".

The awards for Best Leading Actor and Actress (feature film) went to Tuan Tran and Phuong Anh Dao, while the awards for Best Supporting Actor and Actress (feature film) went to Hong Dao, Bao Dinh, and Phuong Nam. Thu Trang won the award for Best First Feature Film Director for "The Billion Dollar Kiss," and the award for Most Popular Vietnamese Film (voted by the audience) went to "The Devil Dog."

In the documentary category, the two works "Awakening and Reconciliation" and "The Keeper of Heritage" received the Golden Lotus Award. (Documentary)
