According to the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Singapore, at a bilateral meeting with General Robert Brieger, Chairman of the European Union Military Commission (EU), Deputy Minister of National Defense of Vietnam and President of the EU Military Commission highly appreciated the results of cooperation in the field of defense over the past time, contributing to peace, cooperation and development on the basis of the establishment of the Vietnam-EU Comprehensive Partnership and Cooperation Agreement on the ASEAN's participation in the crisis management agreement between Vietnam and the EU. of the EU (FPA). Ms. Cipolla Christine sincerely thanked the support and facilitation of the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam in coordinating training activities and disseminating knowledge related to the International Humanitarian Law, the Law of Armed Conflict; congratulate Vietnam on its success in participating in UN peacekeeping operations.

Sharing about the current status of consequences of dioxin poisons, mines and explosives left over from the war in Vietnam, Deputy Minister Hoang Xuan Chien affirmed his support for cooperation with ICRC on overcoming the consequences of war in Vietnam.
At the meeting with Mr. James Crabtree, Asia Regional Director of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), the organizer of the Shangri-La Dialogue, Mr. James Crabtree sincerely thanked Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien and the delegation for attending the Shangri-La Dialogue for 20 years and conveyed the thanks of the IISS Board of Directors to the Minister of National Defense of Vietnam.
