Pu Luong is a nature reserve covering an area of ​​17,600 hectares, located in the northwest of Thanh Hoa province, spanning two districts: Ba Thuoc and Quan Hoa. Nature has bestowed upon this area pristine forests, and the diligent local people have created stunning terraced rice fields.

Pu Luong, with its year-round floating white clouds, attracts tourists seeking a unique experience.

Located at an altitude of 1,700m, Pu Luong boasts cool, fresh, and incredibly airy weather. Therefore, despite being nearly 150 km from Thanh Hoa City and about a 4-hour drive from Hanoi , this destination still attracts a large number of tourists every year.

The ideal time to visit Pu Luong in Thanh Hoa is from May to October. In late May and early June, Pu Luong dons a new, lush green hue as the new rice harvest season begins. In late June and early July, the terraced rice fields shimmer under the gentle sunlight. By September and October, Pu Luong transforms into a golden season as the rice ripens, heavy with grain. All senses are awakened; the golden color blends with the fragrant scent of the new rice, creating a feeling of peace.

Pu Luong also has many places for tourists to visit and experience. Kho Muong village, located deep within the core of the nature reserve, is isolated from other villages and less affected by human activity, thus retaining its original picturesque beauty. Pho Doan market, dating back to the French colonial era, is located in Lung Niem commune (Ba Thuoc district). The market is held every Thursday and Sunday morning, selling a wide variety of goods, from traditional to modern.

Pu Luong mountain peak, in the Thai language, is the highest peak in the region, shrouded in clouds year-round. Hieu Waterfall is renowned as the most beautiful waterfall in Thanh Hoa province. This place excites nature lovers with its majestic beauty.

Located in the heart of the nature reserve, Bản Đôn is one of the few villages that has preserved its unique ethnic cultural identity and stilt house architecture. Besides its distinctive character, Pù Luông is also loved for its diverse and characteristic food, such as grilled stream fish, free-range chicken, Cổ Lũng duck, bamboo rice, and bitter bamboo shoots…
