Fruits from the forest - love sent to children

At Kim Noi Kindergarten, Mu Cang Chai Commune, Lao Cai Province, seemingly lifeless fallen pine cones are turned into beautiful, meaningful souvenirs. More importantly, they have created a source of funds to nurture the dreams of poor children in the highlands.

The model "Fruits from the forest - love for children" is not only a rustic handicraft story, but also a testament to the skillful mass mobilization of the Party Cell of Kim Noi Kindergarten, demonstrating the strength of unity between the school, family and community in education .

Parents bring pine cones to school to contribute to fundraising.

In the morning, Ms. Sung Thi Du in Dao Xa village took her child to the kindergarten, not forgetting to carry a basket full of pine cones picked up from the previous afternoon. She shared: "When I went to work in the fields and saw pine cones falling on the roadside, I picked them up and put them in my basket to bring back to the teachers. I am very happy when this small act is useful for my children."

Through the skillful hands of teachers, parents and students, the fruits have been "breathed into life" into handmade products such as pencil boxes, flower baskets, pictures... simple but meaningful. When displayed at tourism festivals, fairs or exchange events, the products not only contribute to promoting the identity of Mu Cang Chai but also carry the story of a community that knows how to turn nature into a resource for education.

Mr. Hoang Long Giang - Principal of Kim Noi Kindergarten said: What makes this model special is not the amount of fundraising, but the community spirit. Right from the beginning, many parents volunteered to bring pine cones to school, and teachers also spent time creating products.

From that consensus, "Highland souvenir corner" is gradually taking shape, with hundreds of handmade products being created.

In just one week of implementation, the model raised nearly 3 million VND. That amount of money was quickly converted into a gift worth 1.5 million VND given to a child in particularly difficult circumstances. Ms. Ho Thi Nung, parent of Giang Yen Nhi, class 4-5 years old, Dao Xa point, excitedly shared: I am very happy to be able to do meaningful work with the teachers. In the near future, I will continue to collect pine cones to make colorful paintings.

The fund from “forest fruits” not only supports tuition fees, books, school supplies, and meals for poor children, but also motivates them to go to school, fosters pride in their homeland, and educates students about love and sharing with those in less fortunate circumstances. These simple handmade products also remind us of the awareness of preserving and appreciating local heritage.

The initiative of Kim Noi Kindergarten is a practical activity in implementing Conclusion 01 - KL/TW on continuing to promote studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style. According to Mr. Giang, the model "Fruits from the forest - love for children" is a concrete demonstration of the spirit of skillful mass mobilization that the Party Committee of Mu Cang Chai commune is encouraging to replicate.

Not only raising funds, the model also connects family - school - society, arouses solidarity, encourages self-reliance and contributes to promoting the image of indigenous culture, boosting local tourism.
