In 2025, child protection will continue to receive attention from all levels and sectors in the province with many policies and support activities. Prevention, intervention, and rehabilitation programs will be implemented synchronously; cases of child abuse, violence, or accidents will be detected and handled promptly; and children in special circumstances and vulnerable children will receive care.

According to information from the Department of Health , in 2025, the entire province will have 432,734 children, including: 4,378 children in special circumstances; 38,651 children at risk of falling into special circumstances; and 32,017 children living in poor or near-poor households.

Child protection activities have been implemented at all three levels: prevention; intervention to mitigate risks; and support for the recovery and reintegration of vulnerable children and children in special circumstances.

Some notable activities include: The Center for Social Protection and Work under the Department of Health maintained a free consultation hotline at 1800 8080, receiving a total of 462 calls from January 1, 2025 to November 14, 2025; providing telephone consultations in 116 instances; and receiving, supporting, and intervening in 7 emergency cases. 100% of children raised in religious institutions are guaranteed their rights as stipulated by law.

The State Legal Aid Center handled 36 cases of legal aid for children. The Provincial Police, in coordination with the Provincial Youth Union, the Provincial Women's Union, the Provincial Red Cross, etc., disseminated skills to help children identify and protect themselves from abuse, linking this to the work of raising awareness about preventing and combating child abuse and domestic violence.

Child care continues to receive attention with activities such as visits, encouragement, and gift-giving on Children's Day and Mid-Autumn Festival. Medical examination and treatment for children in special circumstances, children from poor and near-poor households, and children under 6 years old are also prioritized and ensured.

Tuition fee exemptions and reductions for children from eligible policy groups who are attending school, as stipulated by regulations, ensure children's right to education.

In all localities, 100% of orphaned, abandoned, and disadvantaged children receive timely care and assistance. Education , culture, information, and sports activities for children, as well as international cooperation projects and models on child protection and care, continue to be implemented effectively.

In 2026, the Department of Health will be responsible for leading the implementation of policies on child protection and care in the new context; organizing training courses to improve the capacity and professional skills of child welfare officers at all levels and child caregivers in the community.

In coordination with relevant sectors, organize the Provincial Children's Forum and form a delegation to participate in the National Children's Forum. Continue to mobilize resources from within and outside the province to organize activities to care for and protect children, such as: providing financial support for congenital heart surgery, giving gifts, scholarships, and learning equipment; advise the province to prioritize resources for the protection and care of children; and create the best possible conditions for children to develop comprehensively and have a safe and healthy living environment.
