Quang Nam will establish 4 new urban areas.

By 2025, Quang Nam province will upgrade the two towns of Nam Phuoc and Ha Lam to type IV urban areas; and simultaneously establish four new urban areas: Duy Nghia - Duy Hai, Binh Minh, Dai Hiep, and Tam Dan.

The Quang Nam Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, approved by the Prime Minister , has clearly defined the planning scheme for the urban system in the province.

According to the plan, Quang Nam province will develop green, ecological urban areas, integrated with the natural landscape and environment, with a synchronous, modern, and smart urban technical infrastructure system.

At the same time, planning and investment should focus on constructing important public facilities such as squares, green parks, themed parks; and recreational, entertainment, and sports areas for all ages.

Quang Nam province will harmoniously integrate urban development with the promotion of regional development linkages. The goal is to improve the quality of urbanization while increasing urban economic efficiency; to comprehensively upgrade economic, technical, and social infrastructure, architectural works, housing, and the quality of life for its people. Urban development will adapt to climate change, promote green and smart growth, and foster a rich cultural identity, becoming a new driving force and space for development.

The plan also identifies investment in urban expansion at district-level administrative centers, linking them with inter-regional transportation networks, and focusing on the quality of urban services. It also calls for research and adjustment of the general plan for the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone to suit actual development needs, improve economic efficiency, and enhance the urban landscape.

By 2025, Quang Nam province will have four new urban areas: Duy Nghia - Duy Hai, Binh Minh, Dai Hiep, and Tam Dan.

According to the plan, by 2025, Quang Nam province will upgrade the two towns of Nam Phuoc and Ha Lam to type IV urban areas. Four new urban areas will be formed: Duy Nghia - Duy Hai, Binh Minh, Dai Hiep, and Tam Dan; the urbanization rate will reach over 37%.

The goal by 2030 is to upgrade Hoi An to a type II urban area; Dien Ban town to a type III urban area; and Ai Nghia town to a type IV urban area. Simultaneously, two new urban areas, Viet An and Kiem Lam, will be established, with an urbanization rate exceeding 40%.

Tam Ky City is a type II urban area. It is projected that Tam Ky City and Nui Thanh District will be merged between 2026 and 2030, with the aim of developing it into a type I urban area.

Meanwhile, Dien Ban Town will be upgraded to a city by 2030. In Duy Xuyen District, by 2030, the expanded Nam Phuoc urban area, connecting with the Duy Nghia - Duy Hai urban area, the Kiem Lam urban area, and neighboring communes, will be upgraded to Duy Xuyen Town.

By 2030, Thang Binh District's Ha Lam urban area will expand and connect with Binh Minh urban area and neighboring communes, upgrading to the administrative level of Thang Binh town.

The towns of Tac Po and To Vieng will be developed into towns in the 2021-2025 period. The towns of Tam Dan and Dai Hiep will be developed into towns in the 2026-2030 period…
