Specifically, soil, rocks, and trees from the embankment spilled down, "burying" the road surface of Eo Chim Pass. The landslide extended for nearly 100 meters, causing significant traffic difficulties. Mr. Phan Quang Duc, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Vinh commune, said that the landslide locations were areas that had previously experienced landslides. Last night and early this morning, heavy rain in the area caused soil and rocks to be carried by the water onto the road for about 100 meters in the section passing through Hy Long village, making traffic difficult. Currently, functional forces are organizing the cleanup of the scene.
Regarding the collapse of a section of the Nuoc Bao bridge in Son Ha commune, which isolated more than 280 households in the two villages of Mang Na, Mr. Tran Van Luat, Secretary of the Son Ha Commune Party Committee, said that the Son Ha commune authorities are currently deploying forces to clear debris and cut down trees to restore water flow and prevent damage to other sections of the bridge.
Today, authorities will construct a temporary wooden bridge, approximately 4 meters long, to allow pedestrians and motorbikes to pass through as soon as possible. Besides the collapse of the Nuoc Bao bridge, there are many other landslides in the mountainous Son Ha commune. Currently, residents and authorities are working to repair the damage.
