Rashford is training in Marbella, Spain, during the summer break, in preparation for the 2025/26 season. According to The Times , Rashford's choice to train in Spain shows how he wants to move to Barcelona and play in La Liga next season.

Rashford has long dreamed of joining Barcelona next season. However, the England international's future remains uncertain, with negotiations between Barcelona and Manchester United at an impasse.

Rashford is willing to take a pay cut and wants to join the reigning La Liga champions more than any other club. However, Barca are unwilling to meet Manchester United's £40 million transfer fee.

Instead of recruiting Marcus Rashford, Barcelona is considering recruiting veteran Ivan Perisic or Nico Williams as alternative options in this summer transfer window.

Not only Barca, Aston Villa, the club that borrowed Rashford for half of the 2024/25 season, also found it difficult to "rescue" the English player. In the second half of the 2024/25 season, Rashford somewhat regained his form in the Aston Villa shirt.

However, the Villa Park club lost their ticket to the Champions League in the final round, thereby being unable to buy Rashford outright due to their heavy debts.

Missing out on a Champions League ticket means "The Villains" will lose a large source of revenue next season, forcing them to even sell some key players to ensure financial sustainability in the Premier League, not to mention spending a large sum of money to recruit Rashford.

Lamine Yamal was stunned after the final whistle. Lamine Yamal watched Portugal celebrate with overwhelming sadness when the Spanish team lost in the final of the Nations League 2025 in the early morning of June 9.
