These days, the spirit of spring is spreading throughout the country, from cities to rural areas, mountainous regions, border areas, and islands. Urban and rural spaces are taking on a new look. Along main roads, in central areas and public places in communes, wards, and special zones, a system of billboards, posters, banners, slogans, pennants, and string flags are installed uniformly, solemnly, and aesthetically, creating a political and cultural atmosphere that is both dignified and approachable. In addition to visual propaganda, there are also many highly interactive community cultural activities.

To create recreational spaces for residents and tourists during the Lunar New Year, the province has developed a plan to organize a series of unique cultural, sports , and tourism events, deeply rooted in the traditional national culture. Departments, sectors, and localities, based on their functions and responsibilities, are focusing on completing their tasks and are ready to organize activities to serve the people in celebrating the New Year in a healthy, safe, and economical manner; creating a new momentum and impetus to continue successfully implementing the resolutions of the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030, and celebrating the success of the 14th National Congress of the Party. Localities will organize cultural and artistic activities, art performances, exhibitions, spring flower markets, decorate central streets, and ensure traffic safety and order, fire prevention, environmental sanitation, and urban aesthetics during the Tet holiday.

The highlight is the New Year's Eve art program combined with fireworks in Rach Gia ward, Long Xuyen ward, Chau Doc ward, and Phu Quoc special zone, ushering in the new year with renewed faith, hope, and enthusiasm. Director of the Department of Culture and Sports, Nguyen Khanh Hiep, stated: “We have actively coordinated with event organizers, departments, and localities to meticulously prepare the art program and fireworks display for New Year's Eve. To date, all basic tasks have been completed according to plan. The art program features many elaborately staged performances with rich content, reflecting traditional cultural identity; praising the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, the Fatherland, spring, the renewed homeland, and the aspirations of all strata of the people. The program concludes with a spectacular and dazzling fireworks display.”

As the provincial center, Rach Gia ward organized numerous cultural and artistic activities, exhibitions, street decorations, environmental sanitation, and urban beautification; while also ensuring traffic safety and order before, during, and after Tet. Phu Cuong Kien Giang Investment Joint Stock Company organized many activities such as the OCOP product fair celebrating the 2026 Lunar New Year, the Vietnamese goods fair, and the art program "Celebrating the Party and the Spring Festival of the Year of the Horse 2026" with the theme "Spring Comes to Prosperity," featuring musical performances and folk cultural experiences on the docks and boats. According to Bui Trung Thuc, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Rach Gia ward, the ward focused on organizing activities to celebrate the Party and the Lunar New Year well, ensuring safety and economy, and creating conditions for the people to celebrate Tet joyfully and peacefully.

In Long Xuyen ward, the atmosphere of preparing for the traditional Lunar New Year is bustling. According to Nguyen Thanh Quang, Vice Chairman of the Long Xuyen Ward People's Committee, in addition to visual propaganda, decoration, and urban beautification, the ward is also organizing many sports activities; a spring flower market; a "Calligrapher's Street" decoration competition and traditional Tet space; traditional folk music performances; water puppet shows at Nguyen Du Lake; lion and dragon dances combined with martial arts and music; maintaining a food street and street art performances to serve the people and tourists at Trung Nu Vuong Street Park…

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Phuoc requested the Department of Culture and Sports to coordinate with relevant departments to review and inspect the assigned tasks; promptly complete the assigned tasks, ensuring that activities are organized solemnly, thoughtfully, practically, effectively, safely, economically, in accordance with regulations and suitable to the actual conditions. Departments, sectors, and localities should effectively implement measures to ensure food safety and hygiene, security, order, traffic safety, and fire prevention and control before, during, and after the Lunar New Year. At the same time, they should promote the promotion of spring festivities and New Year celebrations through various appropriate forms, creating an atmosphere of excitement and patriotic emulation among cadres, Party members, and all strata of the people to welcome the new year.
