Many people had gathered at the Au Co Mother Goddess Temple since early morning.

The festivities begin with a ceremony honoring the village's tutelary deity and a procession carrying offerings from the Duc Ong communal house to the Au Co Mother Goddess temple. The procession is lively and vibrant, filled with the resounding sounds of drums and gongs, a truly festive occasion.

Before the sacred altar of Ancestral Mother Au Co, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Hoa District Nguyen Ngoc Anh delivered a speech expressing gratitude for the merits of Ancestral Mother Au Co and praying for her blessings for national peace and prosperity, favorable weather, bountiful harvests, and a life of abundance and happiness.

At the ceremony, delegates respectfully offered incense, flowers, and offerings to Ancestral Mother Au Co. Following the incense and offerings was the female officiant's ritual (the main part of the ceremony). The female officiant's team consisted of young, beautiful, and educated women. They all wore brightly colored ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress), headscarves adorned with gold threads, and silk sashes, with the chief officiant wearing red. In a solemn and respectful atmosphere, the female officiants performed the ritual of worshipping Ancestral Mother Au Co according to traditional customs.

With its exceptional cultural and spiritual value, in January 2017, the "Au Co Mother Goddess Worship Belief" at the Au Co Mother Goddess Temple in Hien Luong commune, Ha Hoa district, was recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage. This is the first festival of the year, marking the beginning of the festivals in the Ancestral Land of King Hung.

According to legend, on the 7th day of the first lunar month, the fairy Au Co descended to earth, then met and married Lac Long Quan, giving birth to a bundle of one hundred eggs which hatched into one hundred sons, the origin of the Lac Hong lineage.

In Hien Luong commune, Ha Hoa district, amidst picturesque scenery, Mother Au Co stayed to teach the people how to cultivate rice, grow mulberry trees, raise silkworms, and weave cloth, until she and the celestial maiden ascended to heaven on the 25th day of the 12th lunar month, leaving behind a silk sash under a banyan tree. It was at this very spot that the people erected a shrine to worship her, offering incense and prayers for generations. The feudal dynasties bestowed titles and ordered its renovation, transforming it into the Ancestral Mother Temple.
