Ronaldo has finalized the wedding location with Georgina. |
According to the Jornal da Madeira newspaper, the couple planned to hold their wedding ceremony at Funchal Cathedral, before hosting a reception at a luxury hotel on the island.
This location holds special significance for Ronaldo, as it is only about 1.5 km from the hospital where he was born and about 3 km from the training ground of his former club, Nacional da Madeira. The wedding is seen as the culmination of a complete journey, bringing CR7 back to the very place where his legendary career began.
Ronaldo and Georgina had been together for over nine years before officially announcing their engagement last August. In an interview with Piers Morgan, Ronaldo revealed that the proposal took place at 1 a.m., while the children were asleep, and his friends unexpectedly presented him with a £1.5 million ring.
Branding expert Dylan Davey told the Daily Mail : “If the ring is worth millions of pounds, the wedding budget will certainly be much larger. We can predict it will exceed £10 million when you factor in the venue, attire, world- class entertainment, and a massive security team.”
According to Davey, the guest list will include many big names in sports , from David Beckham and Anthony Joshua to Novak Djokovic, Lionel Messi, and Rafael Nadal.
